My experience with Tri-State Gastroenterology and Dr. Samir Vermani was unprofessional and unsettling. Just before my colonoscopy, after I confirmed my name and date of birth, his very first words were wrong—he told me the wrong test results he thought he was working from. When I corrected him, he argued defensively instead of simply admitting he hadn’t read my actual results. In the first 30 seconds, I lost all confidence. If I hadn’t already invested 36 hours in prep, I would have walked out. Now, only six months later, I’m being pushed to schedule another colonoscopy—despite no symptoms, no family history, and knowing insurance won’t cover it because it’s too soon. When I later tried to share this feedback, Tri-State refused, claiming email isn’t HIPAA compliant—a false statement, since HIPAA does not prevent a patient from emailing their doctor. I will not return and cannot recommend Dr. Vermani.
