Charla R. Fischer, MD

Avoid this doctor (and NYU Langone) at all costs. Rude, uncaring, and lazy staff will not even try to work with you. My appointment was cancelled because I was unable to provide MRI images on a CD, even though everything was already available electronically. To all uncaring medical professionals like Dr. Fischer: your indifference is killing people. Just leave the medical industry if you don't actually care about patients' well-being. You exemplify everything that is wrong with the US healthcare system in 2023.

Dr.Fischer is a great doctor, she answered all my questions about my diagnosis and offered options before going the surgery route. I was seen within 15 minutes of arriving. The staff is top notch. I highly recommend Dr.Fischer to anyone and everyone.

After experiencing pain and discomfort in my lower back and shocking pains in my legs, I was diagnosed with a fractured spine. I searched for a doctor who can help me and found Dr. Fischer. The appointment was very easy to set up and I was taken care of right away. She provided me detailed explanation of my diagnosis and explained to me the surgery process. The surgery went very well. After the surgery, I received excellent care from the hospital staff and after a few days I started to feel relief from the pain. I followed up appointments with Dr. Fischer and she explained to me the healing process. I am feeling much better now in my back and legs and am experiencing little to no pain thanks to Dr. Fischer. I highly recommend Dr. Fischer.

Best decision I made after hurting my back was to see Dr. Fischer. She explained my scans and spent time talking to me and my wife about our options. Surgery was scheduled and when it was over I had immediate pain relief. Other than being sore from the surgery I wasn't in constant pain. 3 years later I feel great! A little achy when I sneeze or cough but back to doing almost everything I was doing pre surgery!

Dr. Fischer provided my 73 year old mother with the perfect balance of genuine concern, professional insights and accurate diagnoses. Her first response was not surgery, which was a relief. We tried pain management options - some were successful and others not so much. Ultimately, mom required decompression of the lumbar and we all could not be more pleased with the results of her surgery! Every step of the way, we knew mom was in the best of care and that her recovery was of vital importance to Dr. Fischer and her team. Mom is walking without any pain in her legs - and the pain in the side of her neck was also alleviated by the surgery (mom says she got a 2-fer). Allen Hospital is a beautiful, clean facility and the staff at the Spinal Hospital has an amazing amount of patience and compassion. By the time mom was being released to her rehab facility, she had nicknames for almost all of the nurses and therapists that worked with her and she made sure to say "thank you" to… each one on the day she was discharged. We highly recommend Dr. Fischer; she was able to take a lot of the fear out of mom's surgery and obviously knew exactly what had to be done in order to get mom walking again. Thank you from all of us!

She is not friendly at all she is very kurt does not spend time with you at all plus I do not trust her judgement.

She was excellent, really nice and friendly. She took her time to make sure I understood everything!
