Dr. Ian Marshall, MD

Dr. Marshall has been helping our family for 15 years. He is thorough and a fantastic physician. He is thorough in his evaluation as well. He explains things to you and your child so that everyone understands what is happening. We highly recommend him.

Unresponsive, forget follow-ups

I was diagnosed with diabetes 13 years ago at the age of 9. Dr. Marshal is an extremely well educated and mannered man that made type 1 something I now consider a big part about who i am. He and his staff were always welcoming and a joy to be around. As i plowed into my teenage years he was able to maneuver his approach to keep me in check. He was always abundantly helpful to my parents outside of what he needed to do and always went the extra mile to make sure they understood my disease and how to manage it and me. However, being such a great Dr. means it can be tough to schedule with him, easy fix is to pre schedule a few meetings in advance so you always have a slot. I highly recommend Dr. Marshal because he is genuinely amazing at what he does.

Dr. Marshall provided me with female-to-male hormone replacement therapy starting when I was sixteen. He was incredibly attentive and communicative, and responded to all my questions and concerns. He is compassionate towards the transgender community and serves a lot of trans patients, and when he first started he was the only doctor providing trans HRT in NJ. The way he prescribes testosterone injections is the best I've seen, painless subcutaneous injections with the smallest needle possible, a larger needle to extract the medication easily, and weekly injections to minimize fluctuations in hormone levels.

Dr. Marshall and his staff are incredibly helpful and genuinely care for the well being of not only the patient but also the family. I could not imagine anyone else helping us navigate through the shock of our son being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes to all the changes that were to come. Because of Dr. Marshall, I truly feel my son was able to face his new challenges, with knowledge on confidence.

He wouldn't even let my daughter speak. He rudely talked down to her and to me. Despite so many symptoms, he wouldn't change her medicine. She was so uncomfortable and made me promise not to come back...We Won't!

This is one unstable dr you should avoid at all costs. He is really strange and arrogant and is incapable of addressing concerns of parents, as he is so caught up in his delusions of grandeur. He reads blood test results and says everything is fine, but when you view the numbers for yourself you realize the numbers are out of the healthy range and that "just fine" is just a brush off answer that is quick and easy when the dr doesnt care about the well being of your child. It is impossible to communicate with this dr about your child since he talks at you, doesnt listen, is argumentative, and has had an empty office the times we were there, likely for the above reasons. A real pompous dr incapable of communicating with parents of patients. Do yourself a favor.... don't waste your time.

Dr. Marshall has taken care of insurance issues with my daughter's medication, has asked me to e-mail him to follow up on something, and he returns the e-mail. He has treated us with compassion, professionalism, and has provided guidance and reassurance. I can not imagine how someone could say he has horrible bed side manners! He makes small talk with my daughter, and always listens. When you have a child with a condition, you have questions and concerns and he never makes them seem like they are unimportant. I am trust Dr. Marshall and am very happy to have found him.

Dr. Marshall is worst doctor I have ever been to. He had a horrible bedside manner, very arrogant. He failed to diagnose my daughter with hypothyroidism. He never ordered any blood tests for her. My pediatrician one year later had my daughter's blood tested and her tsh level was over 69 and she had a thyroid goiter. His failure to diagnose her at the time was to say the least incompetent and he should not be practicing anywhere.

Dr. Marshall addressed both my 2-year-old son and myself with kindness and respect, he asked all the right questions and took time to answer every single one of my questions, and actually encouraged me to continue at one point when I hesitated. He speaks in both medical and everyday language so you get the benefit of hearing actual diagnoses as well as explanations you can understand. I would DEFINITELY go back to him if needed. By the way, I didn't even wait 5 minutes, but that was the minimum time this survey accepts.
