I've literally never seen such unprofessionalism. I searched Dentists in Zocdoc that take the specific insurance plan that I am on. Delta dental EPO. The doctor took the appointment, and saw me, And only at the end indicated that they did not except my particular type of insurance. They then told me they would give me the same rate as the insurance provided however, and took a very large down payment for a root canal as I was under the assumption they were providing the same price since that’s what they told me. After researching with my insurance provider, I came to find out I could get the same procedure for much less than the very large sum quoted by Dr. Kapoor. I was in fact not getting the same rate offered by my insurance, and had been missed lead either intentionally or unintentionally. When I called to cancel they said they would be keeping the money! First, they should check the insurance that individuals input into Zocdoc and if they no longer take it, they should update… Zocdoc and preferably update the patient before they come in. At the very least they should update the patient when they come in, and hand them their insurance card, prior to actually providing service. And under no circumstances should they tell the patient that they are offering price is equivalent to that of the insurance company when it is actually substantially more.
