Dr. Clay Pickering was born in Denton, Texas, in 1959. Clay's mom taught school locally while his dad completed a Master's degree in music at North Texas State University. Clay grew up in Richardson, Texas and graduated from Texas Tech University. Dr. Pickering also holds a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Seminary in Ft. Worth. Dr. Pickering received his DDS from Baylor College of Dentistry in 1994 where he was a member of the Odontological Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, and the Christian Medical and Dental Society. He received his second Master's degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center as part of his orthodontic training.
Clay and his wife, Jody, are the proud parents of Katie, Caleb, Kelsey, and Carrie (and Samy, who joined the family in 2010). They are the proud grandparents of Kylee, who lives in Switzerland with Carrie and Samy. Jody works for Sabre, Inc. in Southlake as a business analyst and enjoys hiking, gardening, …and cycling. Clay has a passion for golfing, trail running, and triathlons. He loves traveling each summer to Costa Rica for dental mission work.
