Dr. Michael Arya Daneshvar, MD

Dr. Daneshvar is an excellent doctor. He is very knowledgeable, gives very good medical advice and is caring. He performed for me a prostate biopsy. He was very skilled and it went perfect with almost no pain or discomfort. There were no side effects or infection after the biopsy. I very highly recommend him.

I thought he was assumptive, rude and dismissive. I told him I was in the medical field and still licensed. I ask a lot of questions. I felt he didn't like that. He did no physical exam though he charted twice that he did. Walked in the door, introduced himself and announced I needed a biopsy with the only patient info on me was varying PSA's that were just barely out of normal limits. Didn't ask if the tests were done within his criteria of no ejaculation for 72 hours before the test (they weren't). Never asked anything about me, my lifestyle, or even if I was sexually active. Considering UCI's reputation and that I had referred patients to their urology department, he was very disappointing. After an MRI (I insisted on one, he didn't seem too thrilled about it) showed no lesions and low risk of malignancy, he made me wonder if they were having a contest on how many biopsies they could do. I asked for rationale and he really didn't come up with one.

The way he spoke to female staff was rude and demeaning. he did not know I could overhear him. I will not go to again.
