I would strongly advise against seeing this doctor. I went to him at Baylor with worsening neurological symptoms. It was a terrible experience. Despite having widespread and worsening symptoms, he thought to check for nearly nothing in terms of causes. Further, despite identifying nerve compression early on, he at no time recommended surgery for it. Beyond that, despite having terrible symptoms in my legs, when he tested them, he tested only one sensory nerve. He didn't know what he was doing. I asked to see another doctor and the neurology admin just kept telling me he was doing a great job. I was limited with my insurance in terms of where I could go. I suffered extreme damage as a result of his negligence. When I was able to get other insurance and see other doctors, I saw that my leg damage had gotten very extreme. Further, I learned that I needed surgery to decompress nerves that he should have recommended a long time ago. Beyond that, I learned that there were many, many causes… of neuropathy to test for that he failed to check for. I would recommend of steering clear of him from the start. They will likely not allow you to switch doctors no matter how poorly he does and how limited your options are, and he continually failed to meet extremely basic standards in neurology. Start with someone that knows what they are doing. Sadly he does not.

I recently had My first visit with Dr Echiverri. OMG what a breath of fresh air! I haven’t been well in 3 years and I’ve seen what feels like hundreds of Dr but I feel like finally someone is listening! My symptoms are broad and detailed and he listed to each one! He didn’t cut me off or talk over me. He really listened and it’s like I can tell his wheels were turning as he was trying to figure out what’s causing my symptoms. His nurse is simply amazing! The office staff were all pleasant and kind. I think this was the best office visit I’ve ever had!
