Dr. Madeleine Fortin, MD

My experience with this doctor was disappointing. She was unprofessional, dismissive, and seemed to question the validity of my concerns. There was a distinct lack of care or assurance, and overall, the interaction left me feeling uneasy.

I have been a patient of Dr. Madeleine Fortin since 2015. I left Kaiser in 2019 and came back in 2021 because of Dr. Fortin and her Kaiser team. Dr.Fortin is an amazing and considerate family doctor. Each appointment when I see Dr. Fortin she makes me feel like her patient is the most important person in her life. She always strives to satisfy any concerns brought to her attention. It has reduced my stress. I’ve found that it is very pleasant to communicate with my family doctor, Dr. Fortin and her Kaiser team. Dr. Fortin cares about patients and their needs to ensure that everything runs smoothly. She took time to answer all my questions during office visit, by email or by video appointment. I had two video appointments recently and did like this new Kaiser option. I would strongly recommend you to use video appointment if it’s possible for your health case. I think Dr. Fortin is one of the best doctor I have ever met in my life. She has overcome all the obstacles encountered in… my cases. She always provides highly qualified treatment. Overall, I strongly recommend Dr. Madeline Fortin and her Team. Dr. Fortin is thoughtful, caring, experienced and she presents all options to find the best treatment plan for her patients. I wish Dr. Fortin and her Kaiser Team to have a great Holiday and Happy New 2022 year!

I started annual visits with this doctor since 2018. She never once told me about my fibroids. In 2020, I mentioned to her the feeling I had in my pelvic region. She ordered test and sent an email to confirm. No follow-up, no talk about treatment, NOTHING. The fibroids did not grow over night. The fact she never said anything about them neither did she want to help me get rid of them, she will never see me again. She MAY have 29 years of experience, she 0 years of compassion for her patients. She is simply there for a paycheck.

I starting seeing her just as a primary care doctor, so it didn't really matter that much. The short time spent with her didn't bother me too much. However I started having problems with chronic pain and she just seemed like she didn't really care. She threw a bunch of medicine at the problem and when it didn't work she just kinda said "well sucks for you". Shortly after I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Months later I got into a car accident that sent me into a terrible flare up. I was out of work for nearly two months. I'm a dog groomer and have a very physical job that my illness got in the way of. I couldn't stand for more than 45 minutes without feeling like I was going to collapse, couldn't bend, have serious issues going up and down stairs, bones popping constantly, and serious fatigue and brain fog. But all she could say was "well its because you gained weight". I gained weight because of all the meds she put me on. After that excuse fell through it was "well… fibromyalgia is all in your head, just go to therapy and you'll be fine". When I went back to work she initially had me on several restrictions like limited time standing, 20 pound lifting limit, only working 4 hour shifts, 4 days a week. After three weeks of that I went back for a check up and told her I was still having a lot of issues and struggling at work, even with the limited duty. She refused to write another note, either extending the limitations, or saying I needed to only be part time for a bit longer. I expressed my concern about hurting myself while trying to lift larger dogs and she shrugged her shoulders and said "that's life. keep a positive attitude". My fiance has told me time after time to get rid of her, and after her pretty much saying "you're not really in pain, get over it" I'm finally dumping her. Don't make the same mistake I did. Find yourself a doctor who might actually care, or at least listen to you.

I have been a patient of Dr. Fortin for several years. She is one of The best Drs. I have ever been to. I would recommend her to one And all. I am 87 years old with several physical issues. She has Been so helpful listening and showing genuine concern for me. I think Kaiser is very fortunate to have Dr. Fortin on board. I know I am blessed to have her as my primary physician. And too, she Is my wife's primary Dr. She is a wonderful Lady apart from being A very good Dr. I'm happy to share my testimony of Dr. Fortin. Homer F. Morris. At first, I didn't think her recommended treatment would take care of my problem. But I stuck with her regimen since her previous diagnosis and care had been very satisfactory for other ailments. Her treatment plan worked and I trust her judgement completely.

When I met this doctor I felt a strange and immediate distance. Deep down, I don't think she cares about you. Does her job, prescribes and next. Will definitely never be a great doctor, by far. She does not seem to belong where she works, plus the language thing....See someone else plese.

Initially, I was very skeptical of seeing this doctor with all the bad reviews. However, after seeing her, I find that she is a really caring doctor, much more than my primary care physician. She talks to you like a human being, and she is not very rushed like most doctors. She also explains thing very well.

Dr Fortin does not say much. Very introverted and gives little explanations. Clealy not at ease with patients. I recommend you get a second opinion or see another doctor.

You are better off with another family doctor. Shy, intoverted, English not first language.
