Dr. Candace Frederick Vaughn, MD

Doc V gets a 5 star. Your web site gets a 1 star. Dr. Vaughn has not worked at this location in almost 2 years. I wish she was still there.

Usually easy to get an appointment, didn't have to wait long, I enjoyed talking to Dr. Vaughn and she seemed to listen attentively. She recommended something that a specialist I had seen previously did not think of, and I was really helped by it.

Best doctor and Staff Ever. She is always available. They always call with follow questions and recommendations. They rock! I have recommended her to all of my friends never have waited more than 15 minutes to be seen and she makes me feel like I am the most important person when she is in with me.

I really love Dr. Vaughn. She takes the time to listen and she respects the patients point of view. She appears to be concerned about the underlying cause of an illness rather than just prescribing medications as a band-aid. She doesn't make me feel uncomfortable, and even understands my concerns, about not wanting to take prescription medications. She suggests natural alternatives instead. This is hard to find now-a-days and she also refers her patients out to other drs. who do the same. She's common sense and down to earth.

I have been seeing dr Vaughn for about 1year i am very pleased with her and her office staff.

i have been a patient at this office for over 5 years and in the last 5 months it has been harder to get quick appts for sick visits. i have always been given the option to see the nurse practioner or seek treatment at a med stop- this is not an issue for me. since the first of the year my doctor has had to switch from paper charts to a computer system. and when i have seen her it does seem to take longer to document information in the new system. My care has never been compromised because my phone calls have not been returned in less than 30 minutes. I have enough common sense to realize this is health care not pizza delivery. Some things take time and some patients require more time with the doctor/staff than expected. I also understand that i am not my doctors only patient. The office staff has been very helpful to me and if they were unsure or did not know an answer always very upfront and quick to ask the doctor to clarify. my lab results have always been called to me the next… day which is almost unheard of at any other office-ive asked around-and i have requested my labs and noticed that some values were not discussed with me over the phone and when i called back to ask about them the nurse was very helpful to explain what the values meant-and has at times referred back to my doctor to clarify.as a retired member of the UAF i have been to many "pcm's" and off base providers. dr. vaughn and the staff at her office are by far the best and most thorough i have ever been to. i have and will again refer more patients to this office.

Overall Doctor was very nice and listened to me and my concerns. But when my blood work came back the nurse told me everything was great! I asked for the lab work to be sent to me. I could clearly see that the lab work was flagged for issues with my numbers on certian tests. When I called back to talk to the doctor I got a very rude receptionist and she kept telling me I could not talk to the doctor. I demanded that the doctor call me back and when she did she did not seem to happy about it. The doctor read over by lab work and noted that there is an issue. It upsets me that the nurse told me everything was fine and then I was treated so rude.

Dr Vaughn has been my doctor for 4 years. She also sees my two children. I came down with a rare condition and she diagnosed it very quickly. I was given the right meds and referred to a specialist immediately. She has also helped with various childhood ailments for my children. We are always seen promptly. The receptionist is nice and accomodating. The nurse is also very capable at handling referrals. I highly recommend Dr Vaughn.

Had been a patient with this Dr. for 4 years. Always tolerated the rude receptionist because I liked the dr. & the wait was not bad. Over the last couple of months, they have changed everything about the office. Same rude receptionist, but now getting an appointment is all but impossible! Last 2 visits had to see NP because no appointments for the week with Dr. Vaughn. Ok with that until I called yesterday (a Monday at 9 am) to be told I couldn't be seen this week. I didn't need a consult I was sick! Told by nurse today go to med stop or find another dr. This was after calling to check back today ( Tuesday) to see if there were cancellations. Told no. I asked if the dr could call in something since I couldnt be seen & was sick. ( just there 3 weeks ago with same problem) receptionist said probably not but she would ask (10 am). 4 pm nurse calls back & says I would need to see dr. I told her I was trying but no appointments. I asked what was the point of having a primary dr… if you can't be seen. Nurse very quickly tells me if I feel that way go somewhere else! She then starts backtracking blaming the "new system" etc. Then suggest I go to a medstop. I will do just this from now on.
