Dr. Adonis Simon Al-Botros, MD

I'm about 75% sure that he deletes reviews, the last review on this page is from January. I was inpatient. I expressed concerns that I could have had bipolar and bpd, he then went on a rant about how it has to affect my life to be considered a disorder (mind you I'm in a psychiatric hospital as a teenager). He put me on the highest dose possible of a medication that is known to be harmful with bipolar disorder, and guess what, I was euphoric and more of a harm to myself than I already was. He made my stay unbearable and I dreaded seeing him every morning to the point where I'd hide or pretend not to hear him. On my last day there he debated keeping me inpatient longer, after I had already been in for 2 weeks, just because I wouldn't smile at him. I'm now terrified of hospitals. As someone who studies psychology and neurology in my free time, I felt like I was constantly explaining things to him, it felt like he genuinely didn't know that much. Good riddance.

Although Dr. Al Botros is decent enough, there is absolutely no reason to have him as a doctor as long as he keeps the current receptionist staff. They are incredibly rude and mundane tasks such a getting a prescription refilled is like pulling teeth. Have you ever been to a doctor that literally will not answer the phone all day some days? And when they do they make you feel like a piece of crap for even calling. Good riddance.

Dr. Al-Botros It’s good, although the staff at his office have been super difícil to work with, They’re super rude, have 0 empathy, this is already hard as it is for us parents, this has been by far the worst customer service I’ve ever had to deal with, unfortunately we can not change doctors as no one is taking new Patiences until a few months from now, it saddens me because the doctor is a good doctor and his staff is going to scare people away, the rudest I’ve ever had.

I don't recommend them at all. They have showed me just who they are. The people who work in that office will escalate things and get you upset. They really don't like people who have a mental illness. The doctor is nice, but the staff aren't. I won't be seeing them anymore after my appointment on the 24th. The staff and the pharmacy are a total will hassle and escalate you to the point of getting you upset with them.

Dr. Al-botros over medicated me on an antidepressant that made mild depression worse, resulted in a rebound migraine headache with aura that lasted for three months while I was on the medication, serotonin poisoning sores on my temples, and finally a 3 day hospitalization. During that time I was prescribed migraine medication which was also a serotonin reuptake inhibitor. When I had reported to Dr. Albotros that the antidepressant was causing mood swings and making the depression worse, he denied that it was the medication and increased the dosage. After the hospitalization I researched the medication and discovered that Dr. Albotros had not been transparent with me. I confronted him and he admitted that the antidepressnt was the cause of the three month long migraine, but insisted that I needed to take an antidepressant for the mild depression I was experiencing. I tried Prozac and the migraine began to return. I stopped the medication and fired Dr. Albotros. I have not experienced… that severe of depression or migraine since, which has been ten years now. But then, I have also not been on any medication in the last ten years.

I would be echoing what others have mentioned, front desk lady, overall just not that great of an experience.

I am surprised to see the reviews. I have been here for 11 years. The staff is understaffed yes, but they are extremely mistreated by demanding patients. And that office manager that is so rude, works tirelessly at that office. Rude? Take a look in the mirror. Try dealing with yourselves. I have seen her called every name in the book and she still does her job and sometimes has to do the height, weight and blood pressure on top of that. So shame on you. THE DOCTOR IS GREAT! Staff needs more help.

The office manager is the rudest more unprofessional woman you’ll ever meet. I’m switching to a new psychiatrist because of her. Also they NEVER answer the phone.

This office is an absolute nightmare. The only good thing about this place is the PA, Mary Schlecht, but she is at the mercy of Al-Botros and the office manager/staff. The office manager is completely rude to the patients and treats them all like nuisances. It is nearly impossible to get prescriptions filled on time and they leave you high and dry without a care in the world about your well-being. Also, forget about getting your records transferred if you try to go to a new doctor. They avoid you like the plague. Save yourself the headache and start your care with another doctor’s office that cares and is willing to help you.

The providers in this office have been amazing to my 11 yo boy that has been a pt for over 6 years, only psychiatrist he has ever been to. The office staff however, is the worst I ha e ever encountered. Keep your mouth shut or the office manger will remove you from the system(illegal yes) So now bc this woman is so rude, hateful, and unprofessional... my 11 year old boy suffers and has to find a new psychiatrist and he doesn’t take change well.
