Waited over 2 months for a New Patient appointment for my mother. Took off work to bring my mother to Dr. Shareef. Walked in and there was a patient waiting to be seen for the same time as us. After 50 minutes of waiting, 2 other patients came in and signed in to be seen, along with the other patient already there waiting, I asked the receptionist how much longer the wait would be to which she asked the MA. MA replied there were 3 others in the rooms waiting so over an hour, plus the patient in the waiting room, so more like 1 1/2 - 2 hours. I asked if they overbooked and the reply was the NP had a death in the family and had to leave. So I asked why they didn't call to give us the option of rescheduling or keeping the appointment, MA response....not my job. I DON'T CALL PEOPLE. I asked the receptionist what the MA's name was, and the receptionist said Christine and then the MA turns around and rudely yells if you want to ask me a question I'm right here. So I asked her why… I didn't get a call. She literally waved her hand at me and turned around. I told her I thought she was rude and she spun her chair around and said it's not my job to call you. I'm busy putting information in the computer and I've been an MA for a long time, I don't need to answer to you. I looked at her and politely replied, well, guess what...I am an MA also and have been for over 20 years and I could NEVER treat patients or family members with rudeness like you. Shameful. I asked for my mother's records we brought with and started to leave. Before we left the office, the other patients waiting could not believe how rudely Christine, the MA was to me and they expressed that out loud discussing it in front of the receptionist. Receptionist reply... nothing I have not heard before about the MA. I asked the receptionist to have Dr. Shareef contact me today to discuss the treatment from her MA to a NEW PATIENT. It is obvious that Dr. Shareef doesn't care since I did not receive a call. I will look for another physician because it is obvious, while Dr. Shareef's ratings were excellent (that's why I chose her), NO OFFICE PERSONNEL SHOULD EVER TREAT PATIENTS WITH SUCH DISREGARD. A LITTLE COMMON COURTESY IF A DOCTOR IS RUNNING THAT FAR BEHIND SHOULD BE PROPER PROTOCOL. I would not want to subject myself or my parents to have to deal with that MA for any future visits. As being part of the medical profession, I cannot tolerate such rudeness from another medical person or office. Dr. Shareef should be ashamed of the behavior of her staff.

Dr Shareef was the attending neurologist at the hospital where I was treated after my stoke. She explained what had happened and not only answered my questions, but took the time to help me choose a blood thinner. She is one of the few doctors who I’ve dealt with who takes the time to actually explain what I needed to know.
