Dr. Alexander Calenda, MD

We were visiting from out of town and my husband experienced a lot of pain and nausea. He went to Kent County's Emergency Room and Dr. Callenda was called in. He was wonderful. He took care of the kidney blockage with a stent and then blasted the kidney stones a few days later. Also, he educated me and my husband on how to eat better so that this could be avoided. He was so knowledgeable and he was very kind throughout the entire hospital stay. We are very grateful to him. We could have waited to come back to Houston and have the stones blasted, but my husband trusted him so much he had them done at Kent County.

Dr Calenda was good in his day but his diagnostic abilities has gone way down. He had to perform two separate surgeries to get rid of one supposedly small kidney stone.

Doctor did not acknowledge or treat my concerns. Was not interested enough to try to identify cause.

He was the only one to find out what was wrong with me...

I have gone to see him for many yrs. Went to him last month did a clean catch specimen, haven't heard the test results since May 2017..... Now I have more pelvic pain. I'm not liking to go back go him because, I seen on line he ruptured a patient bladder and spent 3 days in hosp and was vomiting and passing blood clots> Most of all when he got in there he said to the patient "U must've passed the stone"... When patient called dr. he was very a vasive…. I already have pain I don't want added pain????
