Dr. Aloka Srinath Amarakone, MD

Dr. Aloka Amarakone ran some new tests on me when I first saw him. After several years with other Neurologists Dr. Amarakone found my illness and began treatment. I highly recommend him. He recently left Ssm Health and I am now looking for him. Anyone know where he is going to start practicing?

Dr. Amarakone is by far the best neurologist I've ever been to and I've been to quite a few over the years. He's extremely kind, compassionate and respectful; qualities which were severely lacking in most of the other neurologists I sought help from. He's also extremely smart, and while he was not able to solve all my problems I have to say this is the best I've felt in over 20 years. Lastly, SSM Neurosciences cleaned house and got rid of most of the bone-headed staff so things are handled in a much more professional manner.

Dr. Amarakone is an amazing doctor! I really cannot recommend him enough! I first met him at St. Clare hospital after going to the ER and being admitted. I saw him the next day and he treated me with kindness and compassion. He was patient, listened to my concerns, asked many questions, and was incredibly knowledgeable! I have suffered from chronic pain and numerous neurological symptoms for many years and have seen countless doctors who never treated or diagnosed my conditions, or took my pain seriously. Dr. Amarakone has changed my life, giving me hope that I will finally have answers and relief from my pain.

Him and his nurses are great, however the from desk staff are terrible, terrible terrible

Fantastic!! Very good at what he does. I have been to 3 other doctors and no help. He listens and he goes above and beyond and takes time with you to figure what is going on.. He is truly a great Doctor. He has not forgot about compassion and empathy!! thanks SSM he is great!

Dr. Amarakone is a very knowledgeable neurologist that has not lost his interest in the human factor. He will find your problem and give a proper diagnosis. He spends all the time needed with his patients. I cannot say enough good things about this doctor.

Doctor Amarakone was a great neuroligists and will be missed in Jefferson City. I was a patient of his and know he moved to St. Louis with his family. Just happened to run across this page and thought others may want to know. As I know, someone will be replacing Amarakone and the office has moved so the address shown here is wrong. I'm due to see this new doctor this month (August) so hope she is as good as Amarakone. Also not sure of the address to the new office except it is located near the hospital. If anything, hope it helps someone.

We have needed a GOOD neurologist in Jefferson City for sometime now. Dr. "A" fits that catagory. I have been to a few neurologists and most of them seem like they are just pill pushers, like to experiment way too much or just keep giving you the same prescription and have you come back in six months. If you have had the same issue and want some one that will TREAT you, LISTEN to you and maybe find some new answers for you, give Dr. "A" a try. I think you'll like him.

I saw him for seizures. for many years I had black out spells I was told I was crazy by many doctors. It turned out I had these black outs when I was in the hospital. He diagnosed my condition put me on medications and now after 6 months I have yet to experience another blackout. almost 15 years, at least 3 accidents and so much confusion. I am so thankful Thank you Dr. A!
