Dr. Amy Woods, M.D., F.A.C.P., MD

Amy R. Woods, M.D., F.A.C.P. is a board certified in Internal Medicine with a certification in Clinical Hypertension through the American Society of Hypertension. Dr. Woods is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians, a long-time member of the American Medical Association and a Board of Trustee representative for District 2 with the Mississippi State Medical Association.Dr. Woods attended medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson and graduated with honors. I then completed an internship, residency, and chief residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.Dr. Woods focus on medical conditions in adults, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, COPD, heart disease, and obesity. I practice evidence-based medicine with a healthy dose of preventative focus. I do not believe in “one-size fits all” treatments, however; I believe there are medical problems and interventions that have simply not been well studied yet, so I am …open to some alternative therapies as well. I am thorough and detail oriented. I believe that history taking and physical exam skills are vitally important, and that good communication is essential in the physician-patient relationship. As an Internal Medicine physician, Dr. Woods sees adults with complex health conditions who need a thorough and thoughtful doctor to care for their medical issues. She also sees patients for sick visits or acute issues that arise. Dr. Woods does not file insurance. Reasonable fees allow her to focus on you, not your insurance coverage. Visits are tailored to each patient's individual needs and concerns.
