Best Hand Surgeon! Dr Patal is so honest and caring and comes with a great knowledge of his field. I broke my wrist and traveled over 1 hour to go to his practice as he came highly recommended to me by my daughter an ICU nurse. He found that I didn't need surgery as this would surely have been the result with a closer hand surgeon. He saw that my wrist could be mended via casts and was able to assure me that surgery would have been a much longer recovery- and a greater cost to my insurance. I never had to wait long for my appointment- as I was always taken right on time. Very unusual for any doctors appointment- let alone a surgeon! You can't find sure honorable doctors anywhere! Dr. Patel was professional, straight forward and a great communicator. He was direct about my issue and comforting in his prognosis without being condescending. In short one of the best doctors I've ever seen.

Dr: Anup Patel successfully did a very complicated tendon extensor transfer on my left hand.At one point I though I've had lost two of my fingers. Thanks to him, I have regained a lot of my movements.

Full Disclosure: I am a physician and went to OHSA based on the long time reputation amongst many in the field. I had a consult with Dr. Patel for my carpal tunnel and was impressed to see a surgeon with a serious approach and bedside manners. It is rare to find a surgeon with such amazing CONSISTENT results and care. I HIGHLY recommend him.

Dr Patel is both an outstanding Dr and Surgeon. After 2 years of searching for a doctor who could determine why I was getting "hammer smashing' pain in my finger, I was sent to OHSA. After review, I was referred to Dr Patel from one of his peers (Dr Brian White) to perform surgery on my finger to remove a tumor (by removing a finger nail). Dr Patel reviewed my MRIs and discussed to possibility of delaying the surgery until we had an MRI with contrast. His instincts were spot-on. It turns out the tumor could be removed from the bottom of my finger which also meant 3 less months of recovery. Dr Patel performed the surgery and removed my suchers within 2 weeks. I am down to just bandaids and the pain from the tumor appears to be gone. I would highly recommend Dr. Patel to anyone needing a diagnosis or surgery on their hands/fingers.

We came to doctor Patel off of google reviews. Two years ago I had to replace my 22 year old saline breast implants because one had deflated. At the time of consultation the doctor was personable and we proceeded with the surgery. However three days after surgery we noticed something was wrong. The left breast that suffered the deflate did not match the right breast. It had a slant at the bottom that looked as if the breast was cut short. The surgeon dismissed our concerns and said I was being too picky. Every day for two years I looked in the mirror and those words stung in my head. Knowing full well that there was something wrong. Upon searching for a second opinion we found Dr. Patel as mentioned from his stellar reviews. After hearing our case and concerns as well as observing the issue he stated that if what we were looking for was to fix that problem it could be dangerous. But by replacing the implants that seemed smaller than what I originally had with a larger one, there was… chance he could correct the issue. He ran through all the objections, and medical terms. Speaking in soft tones and attentive to our questions and my nervousness enduring another surgery, without a guarantee they would come out looking the same again. Prior to surgery Dr. Patel phoned to run through his procedure again as well as address anymore questions we may have had. Day of surgery he was composed, and confident while still advising us there’s a chance it wouldn’t be perfect and it could be due to anatomy. The procedure took two hours. After surgery he spoke with my husband and gave him details of having to reconstruct that entire breast pocket. Apparently the prior surgery wasn’t done adequately. The breast pocket didn’t have sufficient space for the implant, giving the impression it was cut off. He also repaired the ugly scar under the other breast. He remained in contact with follow up messages. Today I’m approximately a week and two days post op and I couldn’t be happier. He got the size perfectly as well as they absolutely match. It brought me to tears because where one doctor reflected his responsibility onto me by being over obsessive, this doctor validated what I knew all along. Dr. Patel’s reputation proceeds him and I couldn’t rave about him more. Surgery is a scary thing and one that should never be discounted! In our opinion he is the best in Central Florida. Extremely professional, empathetic, and outstanding bed side manner. I’m blessed He took my case and feel very grateful for it. Thank you Dr. Patel.

Dr. Anup Patel and the staff at Orlando Hand Surgery Associates are the definition of professionalism and skill. I was injured while out of town in Atlanta on a Friday with a resulting very serious wrist fracture, and was seen at OHSA as soon as I returned the next Wednesday. The fracture required surgery (Distal Radius ORIF) and Dr. Patel immediately made me feel at ease with his knowledgeable and efficient assessment. He was clear about the seriousness of the fracture and scheduled me for emergency surgery within two days that following Friday (a week from the injury). His dedication to my treatment and sense of urgency were a relief. I would note that he called me the night after my surgery despite a very loaded day of work for him and made sure I understood how my procedure had gone and what I should expect afterwards in terms of healing and pain management. I cannot say enough about the quality of care I received during follow up visits by him and the associate staff. Dr. Patel is… a clear communicator, relatable, and compassionate. His additional practice of plastic surgery were an unexpected bonus when it came to the resulting healed scar. I cannot imagine a better path through surgery and healing than the one I experienced.

I had three failed surgeries when I went to see Dr. Patel. He was unlike every other surgeon starting with his background which I should always look into I have learned. He was not pushing aggressively on surgery and really wanted to help heal me without it. Also unlike other surgeons. He had a mess to fix and eventually we did go through with surgery with him which has given me more relief than I’ve felt in years. I would recommend him to anyone. He is the best plastic surgeon and hand doctor I have come across.
