The person's review below me is correct! Do not go! For a doctor, no empathy for patients nor do they properly run insurance

AVOID GOING TO BARRY EKDOM! They will tell you, you have been approved for coverage and only have to pay a co-pay, then send you a bill almost a year later saying the claim has been denied and you have to pay out of pocket almost $2,000 plus attorney fees of over $1,000. I worked with Meg Krantz in billing. It's a scam! Testing is important just don't do it at Dr. Ekdom's practice!!!

My adopted daughter was having difficulties in school. She was tested two times by Arlington County and twice by private institutions. Nothing changed. I decided to try again as she was getting depressed had increased anxiety, cutting and falling further behind. I heard Dr. Ekdom was a realist who doesn't tell you what you want to hear but what the situation is so I decided to have him test her. Best decision ever. After extensive previous testing not a single one of the four caught her Dyslexia. Dr. Ekdom explained how she was able to read and also made suggestions as to life strategies. Before you try the fancy high end recommended by everyone make an appointment with a doctor who cares about your child or you and how you can learn to live with issues rather than issues controlling your life.

I have never met a doctor with worse people skills. For someone who's job it is to deal with patients who might be disturbed, he has serious issues communicating with humans

although he may have evaluative skills, and these too are in question, his beside manner was poor and the tenor of the practice was clearly business before treatment. He avoided answering questions and had many mistakes in translating the basic history that had been provided, He had clearly not review the note before seeing the patient.
