FRAUDULANT I left the appointment feeling frustrated. The purpose of my visit—to find a solution for my leg length discrepancy and the pain it's causing—was not addressed. I'm now looking for an unbiased consultation with a specialist who can provide a true second opinion on my options. Wanted to speak with someone about my swollen foot and other issues I have been having. There are multiple issues occuring after hip surgery. The important issue is a 28mm longer left leg resulting from poor surgical techniques during hip replacement. I finally received an appointment at Iowa Ortho where Beecher is in practice. My written request Iowa Ortho: Following bilateral total hip replacements, my left leg is now 28mm longer than the right, due to the left-sided procedure. This discrepancy has led to persistent pain in my lower back, right hip, knee, and foot (I had my shoe and socks off to to show him the swelling in my right foot causing me great disconfort) stemming from pelvic tilt,… compensatory gait mechanics, and asymmetric loading. I’ve trialed conservative measures, including orthotic lifts and gait retraining, but the imbalance continues to affect my mobility and quality of life. I’m seeking your expert opinion on whether surgical revision—such as femoral stem adjustment or modular implant exchange—could safely restore alignment. I understand that the risks include nerve injury, infection, dislocation, and persistent pain, but I’d like to weigh those against the potential benefits of biomechanical correction and long-term relief. Given your experience in complex hip reconstruction, what would you recommend in my case? 9/6/2025 appointment Just had an X-ray at Iowa Ortho. I asked the radiologist if this would be for my issue, the leg length discrepancy of 28mm, but she said no. That’s my problem I’m trying to resolve. Met with Dr. Beecher at Iowa Ortho regarding the leg discrepancy, and he revealed that he was in the operating room during the procedure that caused the problem. That was a suprise to me as I wanted consultation with someone objective. He asked me if I was doing physical therapy, and I explained that I have been without any improvement and told me I should see a Back Doctor. He did not inspect my foot or describe protocols like physical therapy.

Dr Beecher did a total knee replacement last December. I have had problems ever since. Every time I have gone back he dismisses my concerns. The last 2 visits, he didn't even bother to come in and visit with me. He sent his PA and she was just as submissive. All that was done was an xray and they told me everything looked fine. When I asked why my pain is increasing, my knee has given out on me numberous times and I have extreme stiffness, the answer I got was, there is a percentage of patients that have more pain after their replacement then before. I probably fall into that percentage and I will just have to life with it. He told me to go back to therapy for a month. I explained that I never quit physical therapy because it has never gotten better. I need a better answer than that. I felt like I was just a bother to him. Someone he couldn't be bothered with. I would never recomment him and I am regretting ever having gone to him.

I had a visit with Dr. Beecher back in 2015 for my knee and now I am getting ready to have my hip worked on and again Dr Beecher will be my Dr. when he came into the exam room he was kind and caring and when I looked confused with information he would stop and explain the procedure, not only was he kind so was his team they all took good care of me and asked and answered questions I recommend this Dr.

Dr. Beecher attended to my prescription needs quickly. So after leaving the hospital I did not need to wait for the Rx.

Second opinion. He diagnosed my problem and explained my options including surgery. Understood why I didn’t want right now.

Referred to Dr Beecher due to severe hip pain caused by arthritis. Years of running caused the problem. Dr Beecher recommended full hip replacement. Had the surgery a few days ago and everything went well. Dr Beecher is very professional and carrying. Would highly recommend him to anyone needing this done.
