After sending numerous friends to Dr. Dunaway after he did my husband's knee replacement, it was time to have mine done. I came out of surgery with a crooked leg, which only got worse over time, causing issues with my foot/ankle. The brotherhood of Dayton orthopedists wouldn't see me for a second opinion, so I had to go to OSU, where it was determined that he left my medial ligament too long, making the joint very unstable, hence crooked when standing. I am now in a bulky brace to alleviate the pain. I didn't go through this surgery to end up in a brace! Even after very visible evidence that the leg is crooked and multiple questioning, he refuses to admit the error or even the problem exists. Needless to say I am very disappointed and have lost all respect for this doctor that I referred to many friends too.

Wonderful bed side manner. Had a partial knee replaced and a total inserted in 2015. Have had continuous pain even after arthoscopic and injection. Pain after surgery was 10+, and is continuing at sometimes a 7. Did this surgery to be able to walk without discomfort, and that is not possible. Very disappointed with these results.

I was terrified by the very idea of having any surgery, and the idea of replacing part of my body was unnerving. I have also met more doctors than most people, and have a rather guarded opinion of many, who seem to embrace attitudes reflecting a distasteful sense of superiority and self worth. From my first introduction to Dr Dunaway, I was placed at ease with his down to earth respect for others, his willingness to discuss options, and common sense solutions for my condition. He replaced my hip, and from my experience, as well as opinions from other medical professionals I spoke with, he's a class act. His experience and ability place him in the top of his profession. What more could you ask for? A great guy? He's got that going for him as well.

After hearing so many great reviews about Dr. Dunaway we made an appointment with him to discuss my husbands possible hip replacement. From the start he made us feel very comfortable and at ease. The surgery went very well and my husband was back to work in 5 weeks ( he has an office job) would highly recommend
