Dr. David Neal Buchalter, MD

This guy might be a great surgeon/doctor, but the experience I had there accompanying my mother was terrible. She asked me to go with her to confirm some doubts about other pains in her leg prior to a scheduled surgery 8 days from today. The doctor couldn't have been more rude. He seemed upset that we were even there, was dismissive and hurried my mom to ask Direct questions, and even had her get on the exam table and stressed her hip to purpously hurt her to prove a point that she needed surgery. My mom knew that she needed surgery, she was just there to find out what other issues could be causing her pain in a different ligament/tendon. I do not recommend this doctor at all. There are other more compassionate doctors out there that would take 5 minutes to listen and explain.

Dr Buchalter and staff are amazing! As a single mom I had so many worries and now I look back and can honestly say I worried over nothing. From pre-op, surgery, and post-op, I was in the best hands ever. Doc truly is one of the best if not the best in what he does. I had no surprises. Everything went as I was told it would. I had a total knee replacement and scar is minimal which is a blessing compared to some I’ve seen. I have never had a call not returned from his staff. The follow thru care has been amazing. I am 12 weeks post op and have been riding my bike for weeks now! I wouldn’t hesitate a minute to have Dr Buchalter again as my surgeon - I know I will be in the best hands! ????????????????????

Unlike another surgeon who was ready to do a hip replacement on me after 5 minutes of evaluating me, Dr. BUchalter took his time and evaluated the x-ray and then ordered an MRI. He suggested I have a cortisone injection under x-ray (which I did with him) and that surgery for my case was not warranted at this time. It is nice to know there are surgeons who are not ready to cut you open and who are ready to take their time and do what is best for their patients. Thank you Dr. Buchalter for your time and consideration.

Screwed up our mothers hip replacement which needed to be repaired only four months after he did the surgery. She went back to him and he said he did everything correctly. She was still in pain and went to a different surgeon, got an MRI, and it showed the apparatus was not properly installed. Definitely would not recommend the surgeon to anyone. Never even came out after the surgery to tell us what happened. Just went home with no communication that night.

Dr.Buckhalter took time explaining what was going on with my knee. I’m only 63 and I knew going in I had Lyme arthritis that damaged my knee. He was well educated in this type of arthritis and explained how he would proceed with my total knee replacement. He was professional and caring, he conferred with my Lyme dr. Over the phone while I was there! He did the surgery 6 weeks ago and my range of motion is at 90% already. The recovery is what I put into it now. He did his job perfectly and it’s up to me to keep moving! On my drs visits to see him ( I’ve had 2 since my surgery) he is eager to see my X-rays and always has a big smile n handshake for me when he tells me it looks great/ perfect on the X-ray! And I’ve seen them! It’s really amazing!! He is passionate about his work and that’s what you want in a surgeon!! At least I do! I really am very grateful for the great care! He gave me back my leg n my life and I’m able to take care of my disabled son who is a brain tumor survivor! It… was getting hard to do that with a limp and a leg that was giving out like a “ rubber crutch”!! But now I’m on the road to recovery!! Slow n steady wins the race!!! And I’m doing it!!And I owe it all to the best Dr.!! ????thank you Dr. Buckhalter!!

When my husband and I met Dr. Buchalter for my consultation for a full knee replacement, we were both Completely impressed for several reasons: Dr. Buchalter explained Clearly and in an Easy to understand manner how his surgery techniques are Advanced in achieving Less pain which results in a Quicker recovery time. Also Dr. Buchalter's Caring and Compassion made us feel so completely at ease, it was as if we were talking with an old friend. The completed end results of my full knee replacement have exceeded our hopes as I had such full mobility of my knee within 24 hours after my surgery that it felt as if I had been Born with the New knee. I had such Amazing results from Dr. Buchalter's advanced techniques that I was at released and back home within 24 hours of my surgery.
