Dr. Kurt Paul Spindler

In 2009 I made the mistake of allowing Dr Spindler do surgery on my knee because of severe pain I was having. I have Spina Bifida and never did think anything could be done about the pain. Turns out I was right and to me it was like he only did surgery on me for the money. He told me I had the worst knees he had ever seen, and when he said that I should have been smart enough to leave without him talking me in to surgery. But I wanted to continue walking so much and he swore up and down to me that he could fix me and I would be walking just like I always had. I never walked another step after he got done with me and was only left with being mad that he did surgery for the money he would get and I was left in a wheelchair. He should have been honest with me and told me there was nothing he could do, but he did it for the money and I was in no better shape after surgery than I was when I went in there to see him the first time. I did not ever believe surgery would do any good, but wanted… to be able to walk like I always had, so I got suckered into believing him. He simply should not have done this to me or to anybody else.

It has been 20 years since I saw Dr. Spindler , he did an all reconstruction for me . I was a 36 years old mother of 4 and scared to death .. He was awesome , compassionate and spot on with his care . Not and easy thing for me to do but he made me feel like I could do anything . 6 months of pt was rough but it was worth it in the long run .

Dr. Spindler is the only one I trust to do surgery on my knees. He fixed one in 2007 and recently this year 2012. Great Doctor and he takes the time to take you through everything he is doing.

A couple of years ago I started having trouble walking and I was born with Spina Bifida. I had always heard that after 40 yrs old people with my handicap stopped walking, so it scared me. After seeing Dr Spindler I was told that I might be wrong in all the things I had always heard and that I should try surgery. Years later I still am having more trouble walking than I ever have and the pain has never gone away. Surgery did me absolutely no good and I do not believe that Dr Spindler knew what he was talking about at all. I don't believe he had ever seen a patient with a handicap, and I don't think he had any business telling me I would be fine after surgery. He should have been honest with me and told me he had never seen a handicap patient and he should have referred me to a different dr, but instead he let my parents spend all that money and it was a big waste. (I didn't have the money myself). Losing my ability to walk was one of the most devastating things that has ever happened to… me, but right along with that, Dr Spindler should have NEVER gotten my hopes up just to have those hopes shot down again. I hope I never see him again.

May not be on time all the time or explain things right off the bat. However, he is the best orthopedic surgeon. Such an incredible man and has alot of insight and alot to offer to patients. He is a genius. As long as you ask questions thoroughly, you will get your thorough answer.

Misdiagnosed my knee saying that I had an acl tear. Told me that I had good news after my surgery and told me that an acl repair was not necessary because it was still intact. Showed very little remorse for this unnecessary surgery and during a follow up visit, he seemed alot more concerned in impressing a female intern with his knowledge instead of answering my questions on how a mistake like that could be made, and myself still being responsible for a couple of thousand dollars in medical bill for an unnecesary surgery.

He is fabulous. Great bedside manner. Really cares and is a terrific surgeon

This doctor does not like or respect WC patients. He was rude, arrogant and hard to talk to about any problems that occurred after the surgery. He does not believe in giving WC patients physical therapy following knee or shoulder surgeries. Your impairment rating will be the lowest the law allows him to give regardless of the condition you're in following surgery. I would highly recommend if you are a WC patient you seek another doctor for surgery as there will be no post surgery care given here.
