Best doctor I’ve ever seen 30 years of having seizures!

I have seen many neurologist in the past 7 yrs of dealing with brain cancer and all sorts of symptoms come that I usually have to deal with or let pass. My regular neurologist kept going back to the same medication despite me telling him it made me sick. I thought that maybe there was nothing else. Dr. Chong managed to figure out what was going on in no time and fixed me right up, took time to explain. I feel blessed to have found him.

I've been to several neurologists and multiple doctors in my life. I consider myself utterly fortunate and blessed to be a patient of Dr. Chong. He sets the standards extremely high for all doctors that I doubt I will ever come across a medical practitioner who is as brilliant, kind, and attentive as he is. He has exemplary bedside manners, is extremely knowledgeable, and allocates as much time needed to ask questions. One downside of neurological issues is that sometimes I feel myself sounding crazy explaining my symptoms to a doctor. But Dr. Chong makes further inquiries and provides detailed explanations for reasons why these symptoms could be happening, never making me feel like I'm going crazy. Not only medical concerns, he even addresses any other concerns one may have like testing and insurance concerns. Dr. Derek Chong is a life saver!

Wow was he a great doctor. Highly recommend. I would give 10 stars out of 5 if that was even possible.

Dr C. has been a life saver for me. Literally. When other hospitals and doctors had no answers for my problems, Cr. Chong proved to be the best.

I have been to countless physicians over a period of 9 months and have yet to receive a proper diagnosis. At times I have thought I was absolutely insane and some of the Dr's I have met with have probably thought the same. Dr Chong was the first to give credence to my story, seriously review my reports and records and come up with a game plan. He has an incredible bedside manner and is an acute listener. I am very happy to have found this Dr and a hopeful that I am finally on my way to healing and a full recovery!

I've never written a review on a Doctor, but felt this had to be my first because the world needs to know how unbelievable Dr.Chong is! I have suffered from seizures since I was 14 (now age 24) and have been misdiagnosed repeatedly (vassal Vagal response, Anxiety, etc.) Even though we haven't been able to confirm seizures and a diagnoses (though we are 95% sure its epilepsy) Dr.Chong is the most attentive, on point neurologist out there. 1. He always returns calls/Emails promptly 2. he answers all my concerns/questions and never makes me feel "crazy" no matter how crazy they are 3. He fits me into his schedule if I need to be seen immediately 4 . He never makes me feel rushed in an appointment and will spend however much time is needed to answer all my questions 5. he asks a lot of questions and is very thorough in examining 6. I feel comfortable and trust him on what he says; he's extremely knowledgeable & is honest with me about all possible reasoning for my condition I… can't say enough good things about Dr.Chong, you couldn't pay me to see a different neurologist. If you are looking for the best possible care out there, choose NYU and Dr. Derek Chong!!!

He seems to be up-to-date as a neurologist. He showed competence and courtesy. As a patient, I feel he can be my brain doctor for good.
