Dr. Dimitri Toulic Azar, MD

I found myself in mass eye and ear after someone pointed fireworks at my face.I had 18 doctors look at me the only one who gave me a chance was dr azar.he spent a solid month with me working on both my eyes.without his help I would have lost my right eye without question.I also remember I could not see him at first but his voice was the only thing I had.this doctor saved a badly burned eye.I have had over 100 eye operations and he is the most gifted and kind man in the world.I trust him and anyone who is in need of the best go visit him I am now a dad of three and if any of my kids were ever hurt they would go to him my rating the best in the world

I went in for a Lasiks consultation and a number of his staff and students ran a number of measurements and tests which involved having my eyes dilated and a few other eye drops put in. The consult with Dr. Azar was relatively short and seemed like he was trying to rush me along. On day 2, my eyes are still dilated and I called the office. I'm told that someone would call me and a few hours later a voice message was left telling me not to worry, that it is perfectly normal and that there should not be any lingering effects and that it varies per person. Day 3, my eyes are still dilated 50%. I still have problems focusing. I've called again and the same associate calls me to assure me that it's perfectly normal and that it is just wearing off slower in me. I conveyed my concerns and she tells me to just come by the UIC office and they will give me drops to reverse the process if the problem persists. My complaint is that the reversal medication wasn't offered to me initially and I had… to strain my eyes at work and Dr. Azar never contacted me. I don't even know if he was notified of the problem. I've had my eyes dilated before and it did not last more than about 3 to 4 hours. Consequently, I will not have my Lasiks procedure with Dr. Azar.
