Dr. Donald Ray Tyler, MD

This is surgeon. After two follow ups, he is done. He will recommend no certain physical therapist. He will not oversee what the physical therapist does. Whatever results happen is not his problem. He is not unkind, just indifferent. You family practice MD will be stuck with coordinating follow up care. Several nurses had surgery done by him and the MD recommended him. Hope the pain stops. If not, he won't care. He did surgery and got paid. He took Tricare, so as retired military officer you are lucky if anyone takes that.

After years of misdiagnosis and excruciating pain, Dr. Tyler immediately saw the exact location of the problem my 17 year old was having. To say the operation was a success would be an understatement! He was able to remove the unhealthy portion of the disc while leaving the healthy portion of the disc intact, allowing him to avoid a fusion. His technique and pain managemt plan allowed for my son to avoid taking opioid pain medicine outside of the first two weeks of a major surgery. He did not even use an entire prescription and never needed a refill. Dr. Tyler’s bedside manner was great. He was very thorough and ensured that we understood what to expect at each stage of recovery. I highly recommend his services!

I love Dr Tyler! He is caring, concerned and has the best bedside manner. He never forgets his patients.

Sent home after 1 day and told a total lie.. no comment about my broke neck.....Had no Ins.. Guess that was why...He was with another group at that time...Mobile Neuro. Group..Seen only in the hospital because he was on call.....No office visits at all !!

After completing all conservative treatments for my lumbar issues, I was referred to this guy. I have two bulging discs at L4/L5 & L5/S1 that has resulted in chronic pain for the past year. At L4/L5, I have severe narrowing of the neuralformina, due to herniated disc and bony overgrowths. His suggestion was to have another MRI and to see a rheumatologist of all people! I am 27 years old and I am tired of receiving the run-around from these "specialists". Fortunately for me, I was approved to have minimally invavsive surgery at The Laser Spine Institute. DR. Tyler did not even do a simple, physical examination of my lower back. Needless to say, I will no longer be a patient of his (not that I ever was with the amount of respect and time spent with him). Total waste of my time. Do your research people!
