Dr. Evan Andrew Rieder, MD

Thank goodness for having access to my medical visit notes. He auto-populates charts with information from 2013 and doesn't ask. No vitals, no review of systems. Was in the room for 5 minutes. Looked at my skin. Prescribed something. Didn't advise on adverse events to look out for, didn't explain the causes or prevention for my condition. Seemed like he was in a hurry. On the chart he stated that I declined an exam which he didn't offer. This was a very problem focused, level 1 visit, but he decided to charge my insurance a level 3 visit, despite the lack of details in history taking and physical exam. Most physicians NYU physicians I've been to have been great. I'm surprised he has such a large social media following.

I definitely had the wrong impression of Dr. Rieder. He is not cocky at all. He just knows his stuff. I will be contacting vitals to take that negative review down. Great doctor. I highly recommend

I would avoid. In my opinion very cocky and not a good dermatologist.

I was 20 minutes late because of a bus detour, but the office was very accommodating and helpful and got me in almost right away. I had to wait a bit for the doctor to come into the room, but when he did, he was quick and professional and kind. Highly recommend.

Professional, compassionate intuitive doctor

When I was treated by Dr. Evan Rieder at NYU Langone center ER, I was absolutely disgusted at his bedside manner. Dr. Rieder is simply put, careless, ignorant and arrogant doctor who will not provide patients with appropriate care they deserve.Dr. Rieder approached me for psych evaluation as I have experienced anxiety attack earlier that day. Quickly, I realized that he was unwilling to invest much effort into fully investigating the course of incident. He refused to contact qualified and authorized individuals who were directly involved in the incident, but rather strictly rely his judgments upon testimonials given by individuals who were merely witnesses that has absolutely no idea (or involvement) of what really went on. When I objected to fairness of his opinions as he couldnt possibly make such premature diagnosis without talking to key individuals who had been aware of my stress and anxiety, my words were completely disregarded and ignored. He incessantly repeated that I only… have two choices.Dr. Rieder did not give me choices. He threatened me by informing me that the only other option besides voluntarily signing myself into NYU Langone was to forcefully admit me in a place I wouldnt want to be-like Bellevue-where I will be held indefinitely as an involuntary patient. I am writing this testimonial after I have spent horrendous days trapped in psychiatric unit under false pretenses against my will due to Dr. Rieders careless, ignorant, and arrogant misdiagnosis. After days in the unit, surprise to Dr. Rieder I am not diagnosed with any mental illness and was released.Then I beg to question, why was I trapped in a psychiatric unit with truly mentally ill patients for a week, helplessly witnessing my work and life getting sabotaged? It was Dr. Rieders unwillingness to oblige his duty to investigate the situation fully that couldve led him to make APPROPRIATE diagnosis. Bottom line, Dr. Evan Rieder treats his patients with no respect. Before his degrees from University of Pennsylvania and Dartmouth, he should have been educated on his manner and attitude above all those issues he has.
