Dr. Fernando Norona, MD

Uncaring and inefficient are the best way to describe this doctor. My wife went into West Boca Medical Center after visiting the ER complaining about chronic pain and discomfort. They admitted her, telling her that they needed to run tests and do MRI's because they think she has MS. After 2 days, and almost no examination, Dr. Norona came in to tell her that she would be going home because everything looked good and nothing was wrong. My wife asked about a lumbar puncture, as this is an SOP looking for MS. Dr. Norona refused to do this. My wife complained to the administration and asked to see another neurologist because she felt that Dr. Norona was not thorough and did not give her a reliable diagnosis. The administration said they hear this complaint about Dr. Norona often and that we should complain on Google about him. Then they said she could not see a different neurologist as Dr. Norona had made his diagnosis. Unhappy with the results, we went to Boca Regional. The neurology… team there did more of an examination in the ER than Dr. Norona did in 2 days of my wife being admitted to West Boca. They admitted my wife at Boca Regional where a team of neurologists came in and did very thorough deep dive. They did MRI's, blood tests and a lumbar puncture. Not only was my wife diagnosed with MS, where Dr. Norona said nothing was wrong. But they also put her on a regimen of steroid infusions because of the chronic pain, which was inflammation caused by the MS. Not only was Dr. Norona inept at his job and dismissive to a patient’s needs, but he was wrong!!! He released my wife without a good diagnosis or any treatment. Had we taken his word for it, who knows where we would be today. You can see across the board that Dr. Norona has very low scores, there is a reason why! I am praying that anyone doing research on him reads tis review and makes them think twice about using this man. He is not a good doctor.

The most unprofessional human being ever! He will not see you under way past your appointment time. I've seen him do nothing in his office yet the front desk tells me he is running behind when he is not even with a patient.

He seems like a nice enough person, however,the office staff is incompetent. He makes you wait when he has no other patients in the office. He won't call you with test results and makes you wait until the next office appointment which can be a moth away, unless you call and demand an sooner appointment. He doesn't look at other records brought in and orders tests that have been already done. He just really doesn't seem to care for your well being. Not confident in his ability to diagnose your problem. I would not recommend him.

He will not call me with the results of a blood test taken more than a week ago. I was told I'd get the results on my next appointment which isn't until July,
