Dr. Frank Anthony Difazio

I saw Dr. Difazio back in March of 2013. I was new to Stamford and had been a patient of HSS for many years. I was surprised at how rude and unprofessional Dr. Difazio was. Not only did he misdiagnose me and tell me I needed to have surgery on my meniscus - which wasn't even the reason I was there. When I corrected him and told him I was there to receive injections in my knee he went as far as to tell me never to return. What an ego! ..

Dr. DeFazio replaced my husband's right hip and my right knee. He was professional in every way AND the results in both cases were SPECTACULAR.

Bad appt dr came in 45 min after my Appt asked if I have had any imaging done and I had already told the nurse. Looked at me for a couple on min and walked out. I had no idea what to do. Does not look you in the eye does not see happy to be at work at all. I now going to go some where else

Dr. DiFazio is a great surgeon and a good communicator. I feel totally at ease with his diagnosis and recommendations. He takes care of his patients.

I had a very bad experience with him. After I dislocated my shoulder I was directed to Dr. Difazio, he only spent 5 minutes, and said I should have physical therapy for 4 -6 weeks and after that I should see him. He should have asked for MRI to see if there is a tear in my ligaments, but he did not. But how would I know at that moment, so I followed his direction. After 6 weeks, I had an appointment with him, I was kept for an hour in waiting room, I asked several times to the nurses and assistants and receptionist how long will I be waiting more. After 50 minutes they put me in examination room, and I waited Dr. Difazio to come. I was hearing two man were chit chatting about their weekends, family etc. and just for the curiosity I opened the door and saw that one of the man was Dr. Difazio. Closed the door and assumed that Dr. Difazio would come inside immediately, guess what! he continued his conversation, I waited another 10 minutes, then I decided to leave there immediately. I was… extremely disappointed . I would never ever again go to his office, and would not recommend him to anyone. I was very patient, I am sure no one would wait for an hour like me.

after a bad bicycle accident 3 yrs ago resulting in a shattered hip, he did a hip replacement. he and his staff did excellent post-op followup.i work out 6 days a week and feel great.

Though I liked Dr. DeFazio and found him willing to spend a good amount of time with me in discussing my torn ACL; I found his office staff unhelpful and rude. I had difficulty receiving call backs for appointments and other issues. They also do this shady thing with billing where you can't have a physical therapy appointment on the same day as a doctor visit. When I got my bill I saw that they in fact billed me for both on the day of my physical therapy. Nobody could explain why.

Have been a patient of Dr Difazio for 5+yrs for chronic hip problem and other infrequent injuries. I have recommended him to many friends and all have been pleased with their experiences with him.

Wrong / rushed diagnosis. Suggested what turned out to be unnecessary surgery. Was lectured by inept / obnoxious assistant regarding my questions. She, of course, turned out to be completely incorrect in 90% of what she relayed on behalf of the doctor.
