Dr. Gary Francis Bouloux, MD

This is the worst care I’ve ever experienced. Do NOT allow them to perform any procedure on you. They do not return calls in emergency situations post op. Find anyone other than this place. Horrid experience. I initially thought the other reviews were from disgruntled patients. They are spot on reviews.

Illegally files claims. Breached their contract with my insurance and did not send them all of claims as were promised in their contract. They were forcing me to pay out of pocket or they would terminate me for being different. I contacted Gary and he Messaged me and aided with them and ignored me requests to send the claim to my insurance. My insurance found out about them illegally holding claims and contacted them an weeks later they sent me a termination letter. (Their upper executives do not even know what pre authorization is. How do you work in the medical field and not know this)

Does not answer emails, you have no way to call or email him, team never filed claims after months of telling them to, they were ugly and he rushes everything!! No one ever knows why your there. Unorganized! I have 20 dr at Emory! This is horrible service. Been seeing him for almost a year. His team is breaching their contract with my insurance and hiding the claim and forcing me to pay out of pocket or they will terminate me because I am being difficult. My insurance is now getting involved.

I have had multiple surgeries with this gentleman and I must say, Dr. Bouloux has been 5 stars. I have always had the best results and he truly cares for his patients.

In 12 years of working with oral surgeons, dentists, orthodontists, etc for my care, this is absolutely the most incompetent staff I have ever worked with. There is a complete lack of patient care, follow up, or appropriate coordination as a clinical care team. I have spent hundreds of dollars towards a surgery with Dr Bouloux only to be unable to get the surgery due to his staff’s inability to communicate timely, appropriately, or efficiently with insurance— knowing back in Feb I had an end of May deadline for insurance approval/appeals to be filed. It’s not just me either, the rest of my maxillofacial and orthodontic care team struggles to get anything communicated through this office, and it is well known in this community that Emory is a mess.

This doctors office is one of the worst I’ve ever dealt with. Save yourself time and don’t go here. I’ve had so many problems with them, it’s too much to write about on here. No one is on the same page when it comes to insurance or you as a patient. I saw him once and haven’t since, then get different info from each person I see. Not to mention appointment availability is months out. There are so many doctors in Atlanta to choose from, so don’t waste your time here!!!!!!

My wife was under the care of Dr. Bouloux, and underwent TMJ surgery at Emory University Hospital in 2014. During the surgery, Dr. Bouloux failed to correctly identify the area to be treated, and shoved an instrument though the posterior of the joint, through her ear canal rupturing the ear drum causing significant and dislodging the small stapes (stirrup) bone in her ear causing hearing loss. We have had to have additional surgery to correct the ear drum (Tympanoplasty) while the stapes bone continues to remain in its dislodged position. She has been relegated to wearing a hearing aid ($2500 out of our pocket) to correct the hearing loss that was caused during the surgery.

He was more interested in chatting up the nurse in the exam room than speaking with me. He acts very busy and seems like he is just going through the motions during the exam. He's very aloof and made fun of me when I tried to pronounce a medical term.

Never saw doctor after pre op appointment. The day of the surgery and the day after never saw him. A resident told me that the doctor would see me 1 week later at the post op visit.People heal better with a doctor that cares about more that their insurance coverage.I have great insurance by the way Dr B wanted to be sure he kept asking me if I was on medicaid.a
