Dr. Gerome Barry Kantor, MD

More interested in complaining about computers and insurance than listening to and examining me. Does not follow up to requests and questions either by phone or on their portal. My arm is suddenly and inexplicably paralyzed. I live alone and have had to stop everything. Nerve and muscle pain have been excruciating for months. I had to beg for him to examine me. Please don’t see him!

Dr. Kantor is a very nice man and probably has good basic medical knowledge. He talks too much (particularly about our horrible medical system)--but needs to actively listen much better. The office staff is not friendly, but they are competent. The front desk, medical assistant and lab tech do not smile. Dr. Kantor lectures me about smoking even though I assured him that I do not smoke and, at my age, I do not intend to start. He is all about cholesterol numbers. Although many doctors are now pre-occupied with cholesterol, I have several issues which I had to research and ask for additional care. He did agree to give me the referrals that I requested, but had no new ideas regarding treatment. I felt like quitting smoking and controlling cholesterol were his only concerns.

Dr. Kantor does talk a lot, but he really knows what he is talking about. We have had no problems with him whatsoever - really digs into an issue until a solution is found.

I have been seeing Dr Kantor for 10 years..he talks a little fast but is honest, caring and a little "old fashion" with his bedside manner. He works hard to keep me on track with my health issues. His nursing assistence is the same.

Talks fast and sometime hard to understand. Always in a hurry. Spends only a few minutes with patient.

Worst office staff in the world. Rude, thoughtless, no follow up, long waits for refills, paperwork suck hole. Dr. is nice enough but talks too much and listens too little. Thorough but made two bad diagnoses. I do wonder why we stay with him.

They were rude and unprofessional, making it difficult to schedule appointments. Dr.Kantor himself is not terrible, but I had to leave him for another doctor due to the front staff being so bad.

Likes to read notes to you. Almost like listening to a preacher. Front staff have never been friendly. At times I wonder why I see him. Never has enough time to talk to you. He controls the conversation but does not let you inject critical questions.

I saw him several times. Never again. He is the only doctor I have ever seen who did not examine me. One visit he never even entered the room. He just stood in the doorway and flipped through his notes. Other appointments he spent most of appointment time complaining about Medicare. Then he said he would meet me by the appointment desk, but he never showed up. I said something to a few staff members and they said I don't know and one just shrugged her shoulders. I left after waiting a half hour and never looked back.
