Dr. Velat enjoys challenging cranial and spinal surgeries and is an advocate for an initial conservative approach to neurosurgical pathology. During his tenure as Medical Director of Spine Surgery at AdventHealth Daytona Beach, his leadership played a vital role in achieving the Gold Seal of Approval for Spinal Surgery by the Joint Commission.
