Dr. Hetal A. Karsan, MD

My experience with Dr Karsan started well. He was recommended by my primary physician and seemed to be as his reviews projected. However, over the last couple of years, my communication with Dr Karsan has been delegated through his PA. Consequently, his answers to my questions only result in my having more questions. It’s very frustrating. His answers seemed to be juxtaposed to my other physicians and I cannot get an explanation as to why. His in action last fall resulted in a trip to the emergency room and a five day stay earlier this year. I am starting to have a reoccurrence of the symptoms I had last fall and his response is the same, no preventive measures taken and when it gets bad enough go to the emergency room. In any event, I did not find Dr Karsan to be as good as his reviews. Maybe he has too many patients or there are some situations he just doesn’t want to deal with. I understand both, but just leaving you hanging with no viable explanation is certainly not preferable.

Had a colonoscopy on Oct 4. 7am appointment. I was instructed to be at the office at 6:15 am in Johsn Creek - letter from Dr. Karsan. . Arrived at 6am - office did not open until 6:30am (normal opening times) Poor instructions. Reviewed with Dr. Karsan following my procedure - he smiled and blew it off. Strange that he thinks his time is more important than mine - his patient.. Also just received my 4th bill - separate bill for everything (facility, procedure, physician, pathology, etc) - that was never explained - called Billing and they said I may received two more. Be careful with this practice - not well managed! - makes me wonder if the procedure and findings are professional and accurate - how would you ever know without a second opinion and who wants to go through that??

I had a colonoscopy and Dr. Karsan did a great job. He and his support staff were very professional and friendly. I would recommend him to other patients that need any gastroenterology procedures.

Dr Karsan is AMAZING! He is not only brilliant but kind and caring. I am being seen by him for a serious medical issue. He immediately consulted another expert in the field to aid him in creating a plan to help me and it is working! He also called my Primary Care Doctor while with me in the examining room to fill her in on my issue. I am thrilled to say the treatment is working and I owe Dr Karsan my life. His staff, including Meghan are also fantastic, she gave me her direct phone number

Dr. Karsan is smart, thoughtful in his medical advice, caring and respectful of his patients. He goes the extra mile to ensure that his patients receive individualized recommendations for their healthcare needs.

I was diagnosed with Chrones disease in 1992 and have a rough time of it in the beginning but I am doing great now. I moved to Alpharetta 6 years ago and Dr. Karson was recommended to me by my primary care physician and I was not disappointed! He has been so patient with me and always seems to make me laugh . He knows I have MS and took the extra time to be more informed about it and the drugs I take for that. He spends time with me discussing my lab results which are very important to my ongoing wellness.

I have been a patient of Dr Karsan for several years and one could not choose a better doctor. Dr. Karsan cares a great deal about his patients and is a great diagnostician.

The purpose of this review is to communicate to those seeking a gastroenterologist, Dr. Karsan and his staff exceeded all my expectation for providing excellent service. In my situation, after taking a prep, I was worried when weather became inclement. I had worried needlessly as Dr Karsan and Atlanta Gastroenterology's Endo staff came in during inclement icy weather to complete my endoscopies. The before, during, and follow up care was prompt personal and excellent. As in the past, I will continue to recommended Dr. Karsan.

I was previously seeing a different gastroenterologist in Atlanta who I was very unhappy with. A friend in the medical field highly recommended Dr Karsan. He was great. Dr Karsan has been extremely thorough from the start, and always willing to spend time answering my questions and educating me as to what has been going on, options, etc.. He has also not sugar-coated the information and I have appreciated that as well. I would highly recommend him to any of my friends who might be looking for a good, caring, and when necessary, direct doctor. I have recently relocated from Atlanta to another country and only hope I can find someone as good as him here.
