PHW is an amazing clinic that sees many patients, like myself, with medically unexplained symptoms. I had seen specialist after specialist with no successful diagnosis or treatment until my partner recommended Dr. Malik. Long story short, Dr. Malik precisely diagnosed what was causing my weird symptoms and she successfully treated me with high quality supplements instead of pharmaceutical medications. Fast forward one year later, and I no longer have any of those medically unexplained symptoms that stumped other specialists. It was well worth flying all the way to DC to see Dr. Malik, who I highly recommend to anyone regardless of where they reside.

PHW is a boutique Functional Medicine (FM) clinic that came highly recommended to me when I was seeking FM as an holistic alternative to conventional healthcare. I was also tired of the long waits to see my PCP and specialists, not to mention the rushed, impersonal visits, often with a physician assistant. I have now been a PHW patient for a few years and could not be happier. I especially like Dr Malik who is quite knowledgeable yet personable. Her expert root medicine treatment successfully reversed my unexplained chronic medical condition without any prescription drugs or procedures. I recently recommended her to my wife since other specialists could not figure out what was causing her illness. She is now feeling so much better after becoming a patient of Dr Malik. As my own personal health advocate, I am always seeking ways to ensure that I maintain my good health for the rest of my life. I discovered Dr Malik at Potomac Health & Wellness a while back, and she has been integral with helping me to optimize my diet (nutrition) and lifestyle (stress management, sleep and exercise optimization). Initially, she discovered that my poor gut health may be contributing to my random episodes of brain fog and insomnia. I also tested positive for Lyme disease, that I had no idea I had (no symptoms or bulls eye rash), until Dr Malik had me tested by her specialty lab - since I initially tested negative (false negative) by a big box lab that is in my health plan network. Since then, thanks all to Dr. Malik, my Lyme disease is now in remission and my gut health has vastly improved. I no longer experience random brain fog or insomnia, and I now feel even better than I ever have before. Although, Potomac Health & Wellness does not participate with my health… plan, their patient self-pay fees are reasonable for such high quality of health care that they provide. Highly recommended.

The highest quality, concierge style personalized healthcare with no concierge medicine practice membership fees, select health plans accepted, and reasonable self-pay fees. What is there not to love about PHW? I recently self-referred myself to them for Lyme disease and tick-borne co-infections treatment based on their many positive patient reviews and the fact that PHW self-pay fees are just a fraction of what other reputable Lyme Docs charge. Who does that? I have since successfully recovered from my tick-borne illnesses thanks to the amazing Dr. Malik and her awesome staff.

After looking far and wide for a more personal healthcare experience, my neighbor referred me to Dr Malik at Potomac Health & Wellness, who had successfully treated his wife for CFS. Despite the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, I made an office appointment that was easy and fast to schedule. Unlike most medical practices they are very good about responding in a timely manner. There was no wait time to see Dr Malik and I certainly appreciate the fact that they have taken additional office safeguards to minimize any risk of coronavirus exposure, so I felt very safe during my entire office visit. She and her staff are professional, courteous, and personable. I did not expect Dr Malik to be so generous with her time with me and I knew then and there that she was very smart and knowledgable. Best of all, I was prescribed high quality supplements that have now replaced all of my toxic pharmaceutical medications. One month after my initial appointment, I feel so much better then I did seeing all… the different specialists before her, who were all clueless to what was wrong with me. I am finally getting my quality of life back, all thanks to Dr Malik. Although, she does not participate with my health plan, my self pay fee for my office visit was fair, especially considering I don’t have to pay them any recurring practices membership fees, as many concierge medicine practices do. If you truly value your health and well-being, as well as exceptional holistic healthcare, then take my neighbor’s advice and go see Dr Malik.

I was hesitant to leave this review, but felt compelled to because Dr Malik is the only physician who was able to successfully identify and treat the root cause of my chronic illness when so many other of my specialists were simply clueless. After a year of her personalized treatment, my health has been fully replenished, and I am so grateful to her and her amazing office staff, for sharing my healing journey to being well again. I have met many of her patients in passing and all of them rave about her practice. She has the unique compassion and determination to offer to help the most challenging patients, especially those that have illness-induced mental issues, when other physicians simply will not or can not. I also highly recommend PHW for those seeking a holistic alternative to traditional healthcare.

I think she knows what she's doing but she's not sensitive to mental health issues. She lacks bed side manner and basic understanding of what it's like to live with anxiety and other chronic illnesses. I felt traumatized after seeing her because she treated me so poorly. if you don't have anxiety/mental health issues she may be an ok fit but if you do tread lightly.
