Jamie McElrath Schwartz, MD, is an attending physician on both the Cardiac ICU and Cardiovascular Anesthesiology team at Childrens National Medical Center with an expertise in pediatric cardiac intensive care and anesthesiology. She is the medical director of the Cardiac Procedure Recovery Unit. She has an interest in mechanical support for cardiovascular and respiratory failure. Dr. Schwartz has published many peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. She has taught at national meetings, including most recently the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a dedicated teacher of fellows and residents at Childrens National. When not working, Dr. Schwartz spends time with her husband and two children. Together they enjoy travel and skiing.
