Dr. Janet Myra Noel, MD

Dr. Noel has been my endocrinologist for over 6 years. She worked with me to lower my A1c from 8.3 to 6.8 and has always been open to my lifestyle and choices, including my discovery of plant-based living as a type 1 diabetic. She is very knowledgeable and extremely supportive on the evolving healthcare technology for diabetics. I feel lucky and taken care of as her patient. I've been a patient of Dr. Noel for many years. She's incredibly empathetic and consoling in addition to being an excellent medical professional. As a diabetic with other health concerns, she's been my educator, my prescriber and a sympathetic ear. No one ever asks you if you're scared or angry when they diagnose you or treat you but Dr. Noel acknowledged my fear and my reticence to consider different types of treatment. I have been seeing Dr. Janet Noel for two autoimmune conditions (T1D, thyroid) since 2013. Over the past 8 years, she has been a wonderful partner in my best health. Having lived with a serious health condition since age 4, I have very specific qualities I look for in my medical team. Highest among them are: Willing to discuss and explain recommendations and treatment options; Continued education in and research on advancements in treatment; Being an active, engaged listener; Engaging and open-minded when asked to consider an alternate option and/or to debate pros and cons of options; and, Empathy for the impacts of the health conditions beyond the test results. Dr. Noel embodies all of those things. She is warm, bright, and easy to talk to. When working through my care plan with her, I feel like we’re a team. I rely on her insight and perspective and trust her judgment. I especially appreciate her willingness to hear me out when I’m considering/curious about other options. Even… in a super-busy practice, Dr. Noel takes all the time needed to get through my questions, test results, and options for improved care. She is responsive and leads a team of engaged, dedicated health professionals who are there to support my care as needed. I highly recommend Dr. Janet Noel for any endocrine conditions, and especially for ongoing care related to autoimmune conditions, since I know how fantastic she is at treating those nuanced, tricky conditions.
