Dr. Boughanem is the most caring professional and an amazing surgeon. I have had both knees replaced, both hips replaced and an entire shoulder rebuild by Dr Boughanem. All very successful. He is very careful, kind and the top professional in his field. I highly recommend his services and commend his friendly and professional staff for all their help and support throughout the years. I feel like a normal human even with all the surgeries. Many thanks a thousand times over.

I was first referred by the Hilo Medical Center to Dr. Boughanem after a very serious double fracture to my ankle of which I was not looking forward to any surgery. He was quick to assess my problem which had escalated with a blister wound on the site and took care and time to explain to me the seriousness and the need for surgery for my very unstable fracture. His staff is caring, concise, efficient, and has great aloha. Dr. Boughanem. although very busy, takes the time to literally sit down and explain all avenues of approach in difficult cases like my own. I feel very blessed to have this very fine surgeon to care and manage my case. His plan is get me walking eventually after the healing is finished. I am 70 years of age, but have the heart of a younger person and I am looking forward to that day thanks to Dr. Boughanem and his very caring staff. They make you feel like family with the true aloha spirit that exists in this office. Bless you Hilo Bone and Joint. Bless… you Dr. Boughanem, Trish, Michelle, Landon, Ryan and Henrene.

I have had two hip replacements and an extensive shoulder reconstruction from Dr. Boughanem and I will say I have never met a kinder more caring Doctor. He is not only a top professional in his field but he is very careful and considerate of his patients needs. He has a professional and helpful staff... Highest of recommendations for all of them....We are so fortunate to have Dr Boughanem in Hilo. A big Mahalo from one that knows !!!

Dr Boughanem was very attentive to my needs, he have an excellent trained staff. While in the hospital it was evident Dr Boughanem trained the staff to ensure the best outcome. I had a complete knee replacement. Of course it is a lot of work to get back into shape, but I found it to be minimal in pain, and with the staff, I was well informed of the procedure and what was needed to succeed.
