Dr. Jeffrey Andrew Goldstein, MD

I came to Dr. Goldstein after months of pain. Being a professional Dancer/Teacher, I wasn’t able to do the one thing I love the most. Previously having two cervical spine surgeries with a different doctor. Knowing that if revision surgery was needed, it would be complex I was determined to find the best spine surgeon to handle it. I had my surgery with Dr. Goldstein on 6/24/25 involving a laminectomy, posterior fusion C7-T1, and anterior discectomy C7-T1 combined approach. The entire experience at the hospital, from start to finish, was amazing! The surgery was successful! I’m so grateful to have found Dr. Goldstein.

Waited 2hrs for a 1 minute consult to tell me nothing. Made me do a contrast MRI for no reason as i didn't go to his referred dr who was full until May. Then he said i should have called his office to expedite the appointment. Like i was supposed to know that. Glad i graduated from West Point to be treated like a discarded disabled veteran. Went straight to the VA after to find another dr who isnt so busy and hopefully can help my situation. Because this guy sure cant.

Five years ago today he operated on me, and I am now down with ARACHNOIDITIS. It was one big mistake I made when I ignored a big sign that should be a warning to just walk away from him. I am not going to tell you to refrain from going to him, but please don't sign anything stating that you won't hold him or the hospital responsible for anything happening. If you make a decision to see him ask him about ARACHNOIDITIS and a guarantee that you won't come down with it post surgery. I am reading lost of post about what a wonderful job he did giving back patients their lives, but am I the only one who got screwed? Good luck to him and his practice, and good luck to you too. You are on your own.

Best surgical experience I have ever had. (3 prior hernias, 2 knees, shoulder). NYU staff and Dr. Goldstein were caring and professional. I was hesitant about having the surgery and considered cancelling it. I am glad I didn’t. The excruciating pains down my legs are completely gone now one month out. I am following PT instructions and PT helps. There was pain after surgery as one would expect. However, I stopped pain meds 4 days after surgery. The worst part of the experience was quite frankly the constipation caused by pain meds. Hopefully, leg pain will be a thing of the past. I live about one hour from NYU. The small inconvenience in getting to Dr. Goldstein was definitely worth it. Anyone who is experiencing lumbar problems would be wise to at least consult with Dr. Goldstein.

Gave me the name of a doctor to go to for a cortisone shot. Made an appointment with the doctor and when I saw him he informed me that he did not give injections. I called up Goldstein asking why they had referred me to that doctor. I was told it was an 'oversight'. I would it call it incompetence myself.

It's been 3 years after my cervical spine surgery. Dr. Goldstein is a star. He treated me as if I was his most important patient. I had immediate relief following my surgery. I have remained pain free since then. Dr. Goldstein was very thorough and compassionate. He has a great team. I could not be happier!

The doctor rushed through the visit and ignored my claims. Is all about charging the insurance and moving on to the next patient.

Made me feel comfortable from the start with his expertise and amazing amount of experience performing successful spinal surgery. 6 hour laminectomy and spinal fusion was easeful. Very supportive with post surgery follow up and long recovery period. Personally called me when I had questions and considerations during recovery and physical therapy.Also has great Sense of humor.
