Dr. Jonathan G Kerrick has the following 2 specialties
A neurologist is a physician who diagnoses and treats disorders of the nervous system which is comprised of the brain, spinal cord and nerves. These doctors do not perform surgery, but refer patients to neurological surgeons when they determine that surgical intervention is necessary.
Some of the conditions that neurologists diagnose and treat are epilepsy, aneurysms, hydrocephalus, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spinal disc herniation, and spinal disease.
In addition to using diagnostic tests like MRI, CT scans, EEG and EMG, neurologists also employ neurological testing to gauge muscle strength and movement, balance, reflexes, sensation, memory, speech, and other cognitive abilities.
A psychiatrist is a doctor with specific training in the diagnosis and treatment of mental illness.
He or she can not only provide the counseling necessary to both diagnose and treat a patient, but can also prescribe medication when needed. In some cases, a psychiatrist will only provide the medication and the counseling will be provided by another healthcare specialist, like a certified counselor or psychologist.
Like other doctors, psychiatrists employ diagnostic tools like CT scans and MRI in order to observe the structure and function of a patient's brain.
Once a diagnosis is made, these specialists may use behavior or cognitive therapy in order to address the patient's condition, or a multitude of other types of therapy, in conjunction with or in place of medication.

I had the unfortunate experience of being seen by this individual two times. Offered a different diagnosis each time without a rationalization. When asked for documentation, this "doctor" and his office refused.... .... after two weeks of asking. His office uses a robo-caller for billing that calls after hours. I definitely recommend going to either Forsyth or Gwinnett counties. The bottom of the barrel there is better than this guy!
As a Neurologist GENERAL questions about the brain and it's Relation to stroke should not be difficult to answer. Dr. Kerrick should be able to provide answers to questions dealing with all aspects of the brain and disorders in a general response. My encounter with him did not go well. The questions I had I felt he could have done a better job in answering. I felt he did not take the time to review the previous doctor's notes. And he even said this appointment was just a how are you doing today and the questions I had should have been directed to the physician in the hospital at the time of my family members stroke! Bed side manner was poor. He came in and you could tell that he wanted to be in and out in five minutes. When I began to ask questions he headed towards the door, partially answered the question, and kept the door open for the remainder of the appointment eliminating privacy for the doctor's visit. Once he saw my agitation with him, he closed the door and basically told me he has answered my questions and if I wanted to see the physician that treated my family member, it would cost $500.00 and I would get less time with the doctor than he provided. I told him it would be worth it to get the answers I need. Of course I would not recommend this physician ,but this could have been an off day for him. WE WILL NOT BE BACK!!!
