Dr. Kenneth Bryan Shephard, MD

Dr. Shepherd has always provided excellent care to me but his staff is something else again. Try to call his office and you NEVER get through, and worse, if you leave a message it can take days for them to call you back if they even do. Twice I have had to go to the office, which is not close to home, to demand they fill out and return prescription renewal faxes from my pharmacy after they failed to send them back for days at a time, despite leaving several messages telling them I was either running out or had run out of important medication. Sadly, I have asked my insurer to refer me to a different specialist because I'm tired of banging my head against the wall of his incompetent staff.

Extremely rude staff!!! Wouldn’t even give an appointment unless I had previously seen another doctor which I hadn’t apparently the “Doctor” doesn’t evaluate patients he only sees patients with existing records and even though I don’t need a PCP I was rudely told that I wasn’t permitted to see the doctor unless I had a PCP which my insurance doesn’t require! On top of everything she lied to me on the phone and told me that the gentleman I initially spoke too didn’t give me the information that I needed old records before I would even dared calling them to make an appointment! The gentleman told me he had been working with this doctor for over 5 years! So who is lying! The “new patient” clerk was extremely rude and nasty on the phone! I’m super surprised that this doctor keeps this kind of staff! He will be broke soon with no new patients that this clerk makes sure don’t get appointments to see this doctor. Don’t even bother to call unless you like to be treated like crap. Totally… disgusted by their behavior!

Excellent Dr. Takes his time to listen to his patients. He is very accurate with his diagnosis and treatments. Can't say enough good things about him. He's my doctor for more than 7 years

Dr. Sheppard take his time explaining and making sure you understand what's going on with your health...He is bilingual... English or Spanish... Dr. Sheppard have no idea of what's going on up front. The staff is unprofessional and rude. First time I called I was put on hold for 21 mins. I thought they forgot me so I hang up and called again. The girl that answered the phone didn't give me the chance to say a word and put me on hold again for around 27 mins that gave me the chance to stepped into the office and let her know in a very passive and educated manner how disrespectful she was for putting me on hold for no reason when there were no patients at the office at all. I never expected she had the balls to argue with me and she did it in a angry way letting me know she was too busy doing papers and that they were only three people at the office to do everything. when I told this lady that she will hear about me she answered to me with attitude and saying OK! DO IT!..I m still in shock and thinking how is possible this doctor is not aware of the unprofessional, disrespectful, uncaring, rude, unhelpful staff working at his… office. I completely sympathize with the negative opinions on previous reviews.

The office staff is rude, when I first met them they were very nice but then they showed their true colors. They argued with my primary doctors office and also with the phlebotomist office. I found that it was very hard to reach this doctor even when I felt it was and emergency situation and needed to speak with him or to speak to someone that could help me. Once I was called from Baptist stating the evening before a test was scheduled that a prescription wasn't issued for a test that took a month to get an appointment therefore I missed the appointment and had to wait two months for a new appointment. There were always lots of patients in waiting room with not enough chairs to sit! The wait was long and the time spent with the doctor was short. The doctor was nice but one time he argued that I wasn't following his protocol which I was! Also, I felt that we weren't on the same page with my healthcare. Dr. Aguilar was a better doctor but he is a PA not MD!

I have been a patient of Dr. Shephard for over 10 years and my wife for 5 years. He is very personable, excellent bed side manners and is fluent in English and Spanish. He is always into the latest treatments and medications and relays the information to his patients for them to benefit. His office staff is equally qualified, accommodating and quite pleasant.
