Dr. Laura Sherrod Haynie, MD

Not only did I wait quite a long time in the lobby, but I waited even longer in the room. this is after seeing her in her office at her desk looking at her PC. She was rushed, didn't communicate well la all, and then when a mentioned another simple issue that other doctors in the same practice have handled for me in 5 minutes, she says its not covered under my insurance and leaves. Horrible, horrible, doctor. I will never go see her again and tell people often about my experience with her. I would however recommend the other physicians in the practice though.

She is not overly friendly and certainly will not put in a little extra effort to be helpful to her patients.

Having fair skin and family history of skin cancer, I’ve been to plenty of dermatologists in the last few decades. Some want to only see that “one little spot” you made the appt for, but Dr Haynie is the most thorough dermatologist I’ve ever been to!! I recommend her for anyone!

I went to her twice. First time I went I waited a good 2 hours. I chalked it up to just a bad day. No one apologized, neither her or her staff for making me wait so long. A year went by and I went back again for annual skin cancer screening and again, I waited for an hour and a half. I go in and the assistant asked me how my day was and I told her it would have been better if I didn't have to wait so long(I was on my day off of work). Neither the assistant or Dr. L. Haynie apologized. I will never go back to her. I really didn't feel like she cared.

I wouldn't recommend Dr. Haynie to anyone. Yes, I had a long waiting time and my visits with her were rushed, but that happens with most doctors you see. I started and shortly stopped taking Accutane under her care. She told me as little as possible about the side effects before starting it - dry lips would be my only concern in her medical opinion, so imagine my surprise when my hair started falling out. These side effects could be found online, but it amazes me that a dermatologist doesn't have to tell me (or anyone) anything about such a strong medicine before giving it to me. The one or two times I saw her for a checkup while on the medication she was rude and either didn't listen to me or couldn't comprehend what I was telling her. Do yourself a favor and find a different dermatologist (and think twice about taking Accutane, but if you can handle it I admire you).
