My name is Martha Hilson. I have had two surgeries performed by Dr. Porter, a hernia repaired and recently a partial stomach gastrectomy due to stomach cancer, a grade 3 adenocarcinoma. After surgery at the advice of Dr. Porter I saw an oncologist who immediately wanted me to start an IV chemotherapy and also 2 different oral chemo pills. After much research on this and having lost two sisters recently to lung cancer and seeing what they went thru with chemo, I chose not to have it. Dr. Porter let me make my own decision and has followed up with me despite his thinking I should have the chemo. My recent CT and stomach biopsies were cancer free 6 months post surgery, and he will repeat them in 6 months. My only issue since surgery is weight loss due to 3/4 of my stomach being removed. I have never had any pain since my surgery, no bowel issues like most people do. My only problem was low energy for the first couple of months due to my very small stomach and change in eating. … Dr. Porter loves what he does, he loves people. He is kind and compassionate. God only knows what the future holds concerning my cancer, but Dr. Porter has gone above and beyond in doing everything he can to get me well.

One of the most compassionate physicians I have had the privilege to meet. Extremely caring and knowledgeable. He has been a blessing to my family. He and his staff seem to have the mentality of "patient first", always calling and checking on family members. God Bless Saline Surgical Associates for all that they do!

Dr. Porter walks in with a beautiful smile and with his hand extended to shake hands with his patient and patient's companion. He asks questions and listens to attentively to answers and makes notes. He is just as personable at the hospital prior to and after performing operations. I couldn't be any more pleased or feel any more blessed.
