Dr. Madhavi Thomas, MD

Dr. Madhavi Thomas is a decent doctor. Unfortunately, her communication skills and organization skills are extremely poor. Moreover, those of her staff are much much worse. Try calling and leaving a voicemail. I guarantee a lack of response. Moreover, at each 3 month appointment, there has been a turnover in staff. Almost every appointment I have scheduled in advance gets cancelled, usually because she is "on vacation," or somehow, the day I chose magically becomes their "new patient day." This would be understandable if adequate notice was provided. This is not the case with this doctor. During the last week of May, I received a message that my appointment for the following week was being canceled, because the doctor was "on vacation." Since then, I have called and left messages a total of 34 times, according to my call log on my phone. Thirty-four. I have left a very clear voicemail each and every single time. I received my first call back on Monday. This was two months after… I began calling to try to reschedule my appointment. But wait! There's more. In addition to the complete and utter lack of professionalism, business practice, and quite frankly, ignorance of duties and dismissive position towards patients, they also managed to lose the record of my last visit. Due to their "lost record," for which I have a receipt, they refuse to refill my medications. If you're fond of nightmares, running out of meds, where your hands are 100% tied, or drive out to your appointment, to find the office closed (oh wait, did I forget to mention that?) go ahead and visit this doctor and her practice. If you need a physician who follows the most rudimental standards of care, I bequeath you to search elsewhere.

I know sometimes the wait is long but it’s because everyone Dt Thomas sees she cares about and spends time with. She is a wonderful dr!

My husband was diagnosed with Parkinson's and we were referred to Dr. Thomas. She is a good Dr. but her office staff is horrible! One time, after waiting over an hour for his appointment, we finally had to leave as my husband is also diabetic and needed something to eat. We could hear Dr. Thomas and she seemed more interested in dealing with her internet technician than seeing her patients on time. Another time we arrived for his appointment and they said he wasn't booked (we had the appointment card and he surely was.) We were told not to worry they take walk-ins. Really? We have been trying to get him a mobility scooter. Dr. Thomas said to have the paperwork sent to her and she would fill it out. No - she simply wrote Parkinson's on the paper and sent it back. There were multiple questions that needed to be answered and measurements taken but she wouldn't do that. The scooter company faxed the same paperwork to her several times. No response. I have been trying to get a copy of my… husband's medical records from her for over six weeks. She told me to tell the front desk and they would send them out in two weeks. Nope. I called and a male answered the phone and said he had just sent them out. Nope. Waited another couple of weeks and called again. This time "Brandi" answered the phone and told me she had just sent them to us a week ago. She said she would check with the mail carrier to find out why it's taking so long and get back to me. Nope. Never happened. And by the way this is clearly a Hipaa violation. I left messages for Dr. Thomas personally and she never calls back. We still don't have the medical records, had to pay out-of-pocket for the scooter, and now when I call no one will answer the phone - maybe they have caller ID. Please if you have a loved one with a serious neurological condition, don't take them to this office!!

Dr. Thomas is amazing! She has a great bedside manner and is very tentative to patients. She does not believe in over medicating as my old doctor did. Very knowledgeable in programing the DBS. Would like to see more organization with front desk.

Dr. Thomas has excellent skills and is extremely knowledgeable. Also, she is a kind woman who is easy to work with and, at least in my case, went out of her way to help me.

Dr. Thomas was recommended to me after spending three years driving back and forth to Houston for appointments. I was very frustrated with the Houston dr and felt like a fish in a bowl when I was there. Dr. Thomas was a breath of fresh air after that experience! She TRULY cares about patients as individuals, gives hugs when she knows you, is very compassionate and willing to work hard to resolve problems. I have recently moved out of state and will miss her terribly! Praying that I can find someone similar!
