Dr. Magdy Wadie Rezk, MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Magdy Rezk at Weatherstone Medical Care Clinic since 2018. Throughout most of my visits, I have found the experience to be positive; Dr. Rezk is a knowledgeable and courteous physician, and the nursing and front office staff have generally been pleasant and accommodating. However, I have encountered several concerning issues regarding billing practices. On multiple occasions, I have been charged for services I either did not receive or for services that my insurance had already covered. For instance, during my annual physical, I was informed that the clinic required splitting the visit into two separate appointments: one for the examination by the doctor and another for an EKG. When I inquired about this practice, I was told it was due to insurance requirements, despite being informed that the EKG was necessary to complete the annual physical. Additionally, my wife underwent a pregnancy test without her consent, with the clinic stating it was required by… her insurance for each visit. When I addressed these issues with the Office Manager, she often attributed the charges in addition to the insurance copay to previous visits, despite my consistent practice of paying for services upfront. Moreover, the clinic does not provide patients with paper or electronic invoices or detailed receipts for services rendered, making it challenging to dispute charges. During my most recent visit, the Office Manager was unprofessional, rude, and confrontational, threatening that I would not be allowed to see Dr. Rezk or receive prescription refills unless I paid an upfront consultation copay of $55.90, despite my insurance indicating this would be fully covered. I have since filed a complaint with my insurance company. During a three-way call with the Office Manager and an insurance representative, she admitted that I had been overcharged but continued to assert that part of the said charge was related to prior visits. She even requested that the insurance representative remove me as a patient from the clinic. To date, I have not received a refund for the overcharged amount. I share this review to caution potential patients about the billing practices at this clinic. I strongly recommend requesting detailed receipts and verifying them against insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements.

Dr Rezk is fine personally, but the practices they employ are extremely shady. I went in for an annual physical, which they tried to turn into three appointments. They also ran tests as part of it that my insurance did not cover without informing me of that.

The time he takes to listen to your concers. I feel like a new man !!!!
