Dr. Marc Hertzman

He was very cold and quick to anger even when the mistakes were his.

I've had nothing but a good experience with Dr. Hertzman. He's helped my son and is always very friendly and listens to our needs. Too bad I found out he's retiring at the end of the year and I stuck finding another doctor

I've seen Dr. Hertzman for four years, and I can't imagine how things would have gone without him. When things were going very badly for me, he called me at home to check in; he's probably saved my life, and definitely my sister's. He's definitely a little bit odd in his demeanor/sense of humor, but I trust him more than any other medical provider.

Definitely not the place to go if you're looking to analyze your issues; he'll just write you a script for that instead...and it will likely be off-label. He continually prescribed me anti-seizure meds for depression & anxiety without concern for drug interactions with my other meds, like birth control, that my pharmacist caught. I felt seriously overmedicated & left his care because of it.

This person has good credentials but that is where it stops. He is disrespectful, uncaring and dismissive. When my son asked him to generate a short document for his office, Hertzman informed him that he no longer had room in his practice for him. My son was left with a few prescriptions and nobody to help him. We had to find another psychiatrist in a hurry. How this man can claim to be a doctor much less a psychiatrist is beyond comprehension. The Hippocratic Oath has disappeared from this man's consciousness.IF YOU NEED HELP, GO ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!

He spends 5 minutes with you and shuffles you out the door. If you dare to ask any questions, you either get a condescending remark, a defensive remark or no answer. When we thought a change in medication dosage was necessary, the answer would be "it's up to you." If you want to have a plan for care and understand the process, go somewhere else. The best thing I can say is the receptionist is very nice.

He was thorough, met with both me and my son separately then together. He was kind and very helpful.

I am very surprised by these reviews. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Herztman's office staff. They have been polite and professional.In my experience Dr. Herztman is a good listener and very respectful. I am a young woman with no college degree and I have never felt "talked down to." When I had questions about side effects he answered them readily and completely and gave me a print out with information. Unlike most psychiatrists who take insurance Dr. Herztman has never kept me waiting. I have always been taken within 5 minutes of my appointment time. When I sit down in the office he has reviewed my file and is ready to begin. I don't have to debrief him like so many other medical professionals.

This doctor is extremely unprofessional and in the wrong profession. He is a poor communicator both in person and over the phone. By phone, he has his patients leave their info or questions on a recording. He then will follow up with a call or have his assistant do it for him. He also has a poor beside manner and will talk down to his patients as if he is better than they are. His 10 minute visits consist of a quick exchange and then he closes by handing over an RX. This doctor does make drugs readily available...probably too available. I wish I had read the many reviews of him before entrusting him with my medical care. You should do the same.

I asked him politely if he would fill in and fax a mail-order pharmacy prescription sheet for one of my two meds(I get one of my meds at CVS). He said he'd do it one time only and grumbled that he "won't do their work for them." He printed both of my scripts on one sheet of paper. When I explained that I only needed him to print the script I'd take to CVS, he abruptly growled, "I don't understand what you want me to do!"
