Dr. Marc Irwin Sharfman, MD

I am extremely disappointed with the level of professionalism, empathy, and communication I experienced at the office of Marc Irwin Sharfman. I was referred to this office after a car accident injury and, from the very first visit, the environment felt more focused on money than patient care. For an initial visit costing approximately $800 out of pocket, I expected a much higher standard of service, organization, and compassion. Before my appointment, I was required to complete nearly 30 minutes of paperwork and medical history forms online, only to repeat much of the same information again in person. Patients are instructed to arrive 45 minutes early or risk cancellation, yet the office itself repeatedly demonstrated poor communication and lack of respect for patients’ time. The doctor ordered numerous studies and tests, some of which had already been completed elsewhere. While waiting for all results to come back, I received repeated calls and emails pressuring me to schedule… follow-up visits to review only partial results — visits that would again cost several hundred dollars each because the office does not accept insurance. What concerned me most was my recent telehealth experience. I had to reschedule due to being sick in bed and was given another telehealth appointment for May 14 at 10:00 AM. Shortly before the appointment, I received an email saying they were trying to contact me or the appointment would be canceled. However, I had never received a telehealth link or instructions. When I called the office, I was told I needed to complete additional “paperwork” before the visit — something no one informed me about during the rescheduling call. The paperwork itself took less than five minutes and consisted of fewer than ten questions, yet the office was prepared to cancel the appointment over it. During my call expressing frustration and disappointment, a staff member named Gloria repeatedly laughed while I was explaining my concerns, which I found highly disrespectful and dismissive. The actual appointment lasted less than ten minutes over the phone. What made me uncomfortable was that sensitive medical information was discussed without any meaningful identity verification or secure video connection. This raised serious concerns for me regarding patient privacy and professionalism. Overall, this was one of the most frustrating and impersonal medical experiences I have ever had. Patients dealing with injuries and health concerns deserve empathy, transparency, organization, and respect — especially when paying significant amounts out of pocket. I would not recommend this office based on my personal experience.

His office is trying to double bill me and when I called his office to cancel appointments now requesting I pay for missed appointments go else where he milks people

Very uncooperative in filling out paperwork to get me back to work and uncooperative in filling out paperwork for my job's insurance to pay him. He charges for every form you need filled out. I had to demand physical therapy because i felt he was just milking it for all the money he could get. Physical therapy was way better than massages. Attitude is unpredictable and makes no sense when i'm trying to pay you. Untrustworthy! This was a car accident case.

Dr. Sharfman does all he can to help. After going to many doctors, he finally finds what no one else looked for! He really is knowledgable in his field. I can't say enough good things.

The one and only Doctor whom understands the fear of suffering from cluster headache. The humiliation and discrimination when narcotic medications are the only relief from the hellish agony.I have cluster headaches for 26 years they come yearly and lasts for about one month. I find DR SHARFMAN five years ago. I no longer wish to DIE i am not FRIGHTEN i am not ALONE. HE IS A GODSEND. Office and staff is very friendly professional knowledgeable. We try new medications every year but he always remain the same. The most CARING PHYSICIAN ON GOD'S EARTH.

I can't say enough good things about Dr. Sharfman. He takes enough time to really find out what is wrong with his patients. He goes out of his way to listen, and is very polite. On top of all of this he is an world class clinician as well. Docs don't get much better than him. His office staff is excellent and very easy to deal with as well.
