Dr. Hellman performed two total knee replacements and did an excellent job. My physical therapists told me that I (and all of Dr. Hellman’s patients) recovered better and faster than patients of other surgeons. He responds to questions via the St. Lukes patient portal within hours, even on the weekend. Excellent bedside manner. He is constantly looking for ways to improve his patients’ recovery — between the 2 surgeries he researched ways to reduce swelling post surgery. Immediately before the 2nd surgery he gave me two additional injections and the 2nd knee recovery went better even than the 1st. Could not recommend him more highly.

There are many "surgeons" in Kansas City. Dr. Hellman however is a very good doctor that does great surgery. More than any other doc I have been to, he understood my problems with the hip and............listened. Even when I knew and he knew what had to be done, he allowed me to continue with my narrative then, put my mind at ease about what we were going to do. No one enjoys surgery but it was a relief to come out the other side knowing it was done correctly.

Dr. Hellman and his team performed a total right knee replacement for me on Sep 2, 2020. The pre and post operation instructions from Dr. Hellman were very thorough. The surgery was a complete success. Two months have passed and my knee feels great. No more pain and excellent, smooth movement with my knee.
