tuality ER sent me for immediate test for cancer/bleeding cysts w/dr schmidt ~ his office refused monday apt ~ said 'ER' always says it's urgent....said dr would prescribe meds that day ~ monday ~ prior to friday apt (soonest they would take me)....dr left at noon monday after 4 morning calls from me without reading notes or prescribing meds ~ i used old anti-biotic prescription from 1st ER visit to fill myself...nurse was irrate and next day dr prescribed meds i was allergic to.....friday appt i was 10 min early and nurse yelled i wasn't 20 min early, said i was in wheelchair and as appalled in her attitude acting like it was a burden then said no dr visit that day and i would need to be rescheduled...i said this was an emergency (solid blood in urine for past 6 weeks and 3 bouts of anti-biotics already)and nurse said 'go somewhere else if you want' and they would not take me because next person had been rescheduled 3 times already...we left office...went to st vincent where they… acted immediately and found bladder cancer and immediately sceduled surgery....in the meantime dr schmidt sent me a certified letter saying 'i can no longer treat you'...WHAT?...he never did treat me ~ was rude ~ put off any appt urgency from ER (they had sent a note to dr about urgency) or timely/non-allergic medication prescription until he got around to it ~ then refused to take me when i was there for the friday appt PLUS followed up with an insulting certified letter ~~~~ RESULT no action to diagnosing bladder cancer SERIOUSLY DO NOT GO TO THIS DR IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH

terrible experience ~ office personnel kept messing up her reason for appointment ~ scheduled by ER dr ~ and prescribed pre-procedure meds she was allergic to (i ~ daughter) ~ caught before getting prescription filled ~ was on hospital records if they would read them....THEN wanted to rechedule emergency appt and lied that procedure was not going to happen anyway (after ER scheduled and office asked if she could transfer to bed since in wheelchair for that appt) just because computers were going down for maint at noon AND they wanted to take a patient they had rescheduled 3 times already...DISHONEST ~ RUDE ~ INCOMPETANT OFFICE....stay away if you want to be treated repectfully and with care...nurse said to go somewhere else if we wanted...we left and went to family dr immediately....my mother's family dr was appalled and immediately rescheduled at st vincent...TERRIBLE OFFICE PERSONNEL AND DOCTOR

He made asinine comments when I complained about groin pain. That he could remove my testicles; it turned out that he sent me home with a catheter for 10 days and restricted movement caused the pain. My primary caught it and sent me to Physical therapy which cleaned it up

In the past 12 years I've had the dubious opportunity to receive treatment by six or more urologists. The overall quality of those doctors and experiences - both in and out of the hospital - both medically and interpersonally - have been less than satisfying. One or two of the doctors were absolutely horrible - dehumanizing and humiliating. Thank Heavens the last time I needed to go to the hospital, I was lucky enough to end up with Dr. Schmidt as my doctor. Admittedly I don't remember very much of our first meeting,but the medical-surgical treatment I received was beyond excellent. My follow-up visit was a true pleasure. Dr, Schmidt took his time to review the surgery and it's results, suggesting a proactive treatment plan to minimize or prevennt future pain and trauma. Most of all, he treated me with respect - as an active partner and participant in my healthcare andlike a woman with a brain.Why is he a superstar? He even took 20 minutes out of his lunch to finish our… appointmennt! PS Please forgive any spelling or grammatical errors.
