Dr. Robert William Johnson, MD

I saw Dr. Johnson after years of seeing another eye doctor. I was able to make an appointment at my convenience, Dr. Johnson was friendly and explained that my vision was getting worse due to my cataracts. He did not pressure me into surgery and let me know that all surgeries were done here on Whidbey Island - I had been informed that no one on the island did cataract surgery. Staff were courteous and helpful. I highly recommend Island Eye Care

My first visit to Dr. Johnson's Freeland office was a test of patience. The receptionist was neither pleasant nor professional. The technician who performed the refraction did not listen, preferring to argue points. Dr. Johnson, on the other hand, was warm, cordial and seemed genuinely interested in me and my eye health. He found previously undiagnosed issues and explained potential treatments.

Trust level very high. Have the feeling that he really cares about your health status.

Dr. Johnson treated me for a possible retina problem while I was visiting on Whidby Island, WA. I was given immediate attention and the exam was very complete to include a visual field, pressure check and his examination of my dilated eye.

Both Dr. Johnson and his staff have made me feel extremely comfortable and welcomed. His staff has tried for each appointment, to get the best time of day to meet my unusual work schedule and/or request for whatever reason. They've succeeded most every timeI. I like Dr. Johnson very much and he has always been willing to explain any word or diagnosis I'm not sure of or need a better explanation -- even what to look for online. I also like how he works closely with his interns by having them look at the screen to see if they can find the problem and discuss what they see, giving them a first hand look at true Ophthamology diagnosis with reinforcement from Dr. Johnson. I truly like this man and feel extremely confident with him and would recommend him to anyone but especially for Senior Citizens. I am in the latter category. It's nice to be treated well and not with a sigh or frown if I ask a question and want it explained. I think he's great!!!
