Dr. Roger Clinton Horan, MD

Last time my visit was great but I’m trying to call and change an appointment after hey have moved and nobody will answer at all. It just keeps going straight to voicemail. I don’t like how they handle their calls. This is ridiculous.

After a sudden vegetative state and enduring multiple visits from other NWA neurologists, my mother became a patient of Dr. Horan's. Every other neurologist failed her, saying she was faking her symptoms and we should not give her the attention she was wanting. Dr. Horan was the one and only that diagnosed her with CJD. He was incredibly kind and thorough during his explanation of the disease and walked us through the unfortunate progression. At every visit, he addressed every question and concern I had and gave recommendations as to how to cope with what was ahead of us. He and his staff were absolutely wonderful and respectful given such a grim diagnosis.

Dr. Horan was professional and extremely knowledgeable. Dr. Horan took a lot of time explaining things to me. I was very impressed and grateful to find a doctor of his expertise in Rogers Arkansas which is not "big city". I came to Arkansas from Atlanta and Emory Hospital, and was amazed and delighted to find a doctor that met and exceeded my past experience with world-class doctors.

Rude, dismissive, did not want to treat me

I showed up to my appointment that was set up by another doctor for an asap consultation due to quickly progressing neurological symptoms. As I'm filling my papers outs, I get 2 lady's from the back who come out and tell me they have to consult with Dr Horan about my appointment. He may not be able to see me. They return almost 45 minutes later to tell me he won't see me. I was told because I had already seen a neurologist that was affiliated with Mana that he wouldn't be able to bill for a new patient appointment. I was sent away with progression of symptoms with no second opinion. I would not suggest him at all. So much for having the right to a second opinion.

The previous reviews of Dr. Horan are about right. He has a very poor bedside manner, came across as having a lack of knowledge in response to our questions, seemed eager to leave the room, and generally was unimpressive . I cannot recommend him as a physician.

Dr Horan was terrible.. He had 0 bedside manner, he didn't communicate with us, he didn't seem interested in being in there. With being a neurology dr that is a very crucial topic and he seemed to not care one bit about the patient and what was even going on.. TERRIBLE! This is a personal experience and we have had family that used him and felt the same as we do!!

Exam seemed to be very thorough & he was an odd duck, but nice. Told my carpal tunnel had returned in both arms after surgery 4 years prior by a reputable orthopedic surgeon . Imagine how disappointed I was! I was advised to schedule surgery ASAP in order to get any relief. Thankfully my primary care doc advised recurrence like that was rare and to wait & get a second opinion. Glad I did. A short round of prednisone cleared the issue entirely & 5 years later I still have no problems. The guy needs to go back & re- certified in his field of required to have a mentor physician in his practice by the AMA.

Dr. Horan ruined my life. He put me on Dilantin even after my tests came back negative for epilepsy he told me to continue to take Dilantin and it ruined my life I lost my job my house and car and I almost lost my wife and kids thanks to him. He didn't ever explain to me the side effects of Dilantin and he kept telling me that all my side effects were just from the seizure. Finally I talked to a pharmacist that confirmed the side effects were from the Dilantin.
