Dr. Samuel J Porter, MD

I love Dr. Samuel Porter very professional honest Ob-gyne, I miss him so much. He told me it's ok not yearly if I feel coming to see him, I'll ask my primary doctor.

Dr. Porter is a little old school but by far has more experience than anyone out there. He is very honest and when you are pregnant, he will let you know when you are gaining too much weight. This is not to scare you, but to help you reduce complications with your pregnancy and thereafter. He has delivered both of my children. He also performed my son's circumcision and received constant compliments from the staff at Cedars about how great he was at doing them. He plays calming music and leaves the clamp on for a longer than most. He's very responsive and if you have any questions or concerns he will take you in his office to address them in privacy. He even has appointments on Saturday :) Truly a great doctor!

Awful experience... Wish I never went there! Unprofessional practice! The dr. Is unable to provide basic information and answer question. He is very full of himself and is more interested in talking about himself more then taking care of his patients. He never gave me a chance to ask any questions, always rushing me out even after I waited over an hour to see him. The practice is outdated and there are no nurses on staff. He uses his receptionist who is a medical assistant at best, to supervise his procedures. I don't know how he managed to maintain his medical license for as long as he has but unprofessional people like him should never be Working with pregnant woman or delivering babies. He should have retired long ago, because he obviously hates his profession and only does this to make money, not to help people! I will be contacting the medical board because at his age he is defiantly displaying signs of diminished mental capacity... That is very dangerous and puts his patients… In danger!â?¦

I would recommend Dr. Porter to a friend. He is very honest and will tell you exactly what#s going on. Over the last 3 years I have got 2 healthy sons. The office staff is great as well, especially, Natasha.

I love Dr. Porter, he always makes myself and wife laugh and has a great personality. I can't tell you the number of times we've said to each other how lucky we feel to have him. Sometimes if you need things explained to you, you have to get him to slow down a little bit, but for everyone complaining, you can't expect him to read your mind. Fantastic doc!

I found Dr. Porter through my insurance listing of OB/GYN. It was my first pregnancy and wasn't very oriented with this kind of physian. I had seen a previous regular OB/Gyn for regular check-ups for years. To start off the enviroment is old and crowded. The staff is ok, but the Dr. is rude and unfriendly to the patients. He wants to do things his way and does not consider patient priority. My experience was so bad at this place I felted they violated my patient rights; I had to report him to my insurance Co.

I was a patient of Dr. Porter's and I would not recommend him to anyone. He is decent for routine and normal pap smears, however, his office openly admits they do not follow up after test results and his bedside manner is worse than poor. After giving me terrible news regarding my pap smear he then follow up an hour later telling me he does not think it's a good idea I continue to see him. My mother is a medical malpractice lawyer and he discovered this and then immediately dismissed me as a patient. The good news is I have found another doctor.

If you're going a first time and you just want to know opinions in general about this doctor... here is mine - I personally didn't like him. I think that a gynecologist is a very specific kind of doctor. And he at least has to seem to be nice! Once again, I'm just saying my personal opinion. He looks like an old giant turtle... And for me, he is one of that kind of person whom you don't want to spend more then 5 min. with. He is just a very slovenly and unpleasant person. That's all.
