Dr. Sanford M Fineman, MD

I saw Dr. Fineman at Mayo Clinic because I was referred to the neurology Dept. I was not given a choice of neurologist. It was the third time I had seen him and he did not see to remember me or my history. Although he did seem to remember my wife and seemed happy to see her and gave her a friendly greeting but yet did not give one to me the patient! When I was explaining to him my neurological symptoms he was very dismissive of them and had a really negative tone towards me. He then said " YOU look like your depressed " YOU need an antidepressant. Somehow he surmised that I am depressed by the way I look. I found this to be very insulting not mention its false. Whether someone is depressed or not is decided by how someone looks but by their actual symptoms ! I completed several surveys previously that showed I was not depressed if he would have taken the time to read them! He did not order any blood work or any other testing! I exercise regularly and he told me i Need to exercise… more. SO I am my insurance paid $500 for him to do nothing except tell me to exercise more ! Which i am already doing ! Completely unhelpful and a waste of time!! DO NOT GO TO HIM!!

He should not be a medical doctor anywhere. His decisions about anything are based on his assessment of the risk to himself. He has to know before you walk through the door why you are there - so he can decide in advance what he will do - again a risk assessment. He will make decisions based on his risk no matter what negative outcomes may fall your way. Sacrificing your life would not bother him. Stay away!

My first meeting was referred by my surgeon, The Doctor asked why I was there. I didn't have an immediate answer, still in trauma from my whole medical ordeal and in pain, level 9. My husband and I almost walked out. After he reviewed my file... said wow, triple crush syndrome, prescribed physical therapy and medication. The visit got better. Lots of quick tests to evaluate me. Took me many months to start reading my files and gain understanding of my condition and my future. Still doing physical therapy, still have miles to go and seven months left to do it. Pain level now 5-7. Not sure of what a neurologist does...medicate? Prescribe pain alternatives? Quick office tests to see my neurological standing? Will I improve or is this as good as it gets? Still not sure of what is next, hoping I will be close to my old self one day.

Best neurologist in Glendale/Phoenix area. I have seen over 10 different neurologist in this area and he is by far the most attentive and has the best bedside manner and actually listens to you rather than a 5 minute appointment that doeset really help anything with most other neurologists. Very knowledgeable and takes his time to research something if needed.

It's been awhile since I've been able to see Dr. Fineman because many of the insurance carriers I had didn't cover him. He was the best neurologist I ever had!

Dr. Fineman brought me relief after suffering years of migrain headaches through his knowledge and techniques in the latest treatment methods. I finally feel that they are manageable after decades of suffering. He takes the time to listen to you and is very thorough when discussing your health needs. He also was able to change my life when it came to my suffering from body pain. After years of seeing a pain management doctor to no avail, Dr. Fineman addressed medication changes that reduced my pain for the first time in years. He's great and I admire him as a doctor.

Dr. Fineman is now with the Cigna Paseo office in Glendale, Az. I have seen him for years for migraines and he is the best doctor ever.

He is exemplary in all he does as a neurologist. He is the most punctual MD I've visited. He remembers details from visit to visit and has reviewed your history before each visit. He is incredibly smart, thorough, and the most compassionate MD I've known. HE LISTENS astutely and gives feedback freely. He is ALWAYS in a good mood, hopeful, open-minded, respectful. polite,and completely attentive. I recommend Dr. Fineman without any reservations!
