Dr. Seaver Lee Soon, MD

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! I feel so blessed and thankful to have found Dr. Soon, who I believe is the best dermatologist in the world. I previously had a basal cell skin cancer on my forehead that was treated by a Santa Monica Mohs surgeon (who I was enthusiastically referred to by one of the top dermatologists in Beverly Hills)-- that happened about two years ago and turned out to be a traumatizing, 2-day ordeal without proper follow-up. In contrast, Dr. Soon and his staff (including the wonderful assistants LeAnn and Donny) treated a more aggressive basal cell skin cancer right above my lip yesterday, and their expertise was readily apparent. The whole procedure was done in 1 day, and the cleanliness and calming atmosphere of the office (with delicious pastries/fruits and soothing music) made me feel at ease. I had greatly feared the numbing injections (based on my previous experience in Santa Monica that involved some of the worst pain I've ever felt), but barely felt… them this time thanks to an ingenious 'golden rod' vibration distraction and stress balls. I went through 5 rounds of Mohs surgery this time (versus 2 rounds with the Santa Monica Mohs surgeon), yet the experience was so much better this time thanks to Dr. Soon and his staff. Dr. Soon also let me come back the next day to get my bandage taken off and answer all of my questions, which I greatly appreciated-- and there will be monthly follow-ups with laser treatments until the scar is as minimal as possible. I examined the affected area today (which is the day after Mohs surgery with Dr. Soon), and it looks incomparably better than my forehead looked after my previous Santa Monica Mohs surgery-- I can tell that it will heal well, and was expertly done to align with the natural lines of my face. I truly feel that the level of caring and thoughtfulness of Dr. Soon, LeAnn, and Donny surpassed that of my own family and friends with regard to my skin cancer situation. I had a bbc on my brow he did a flap on my brown. I am extremly happy and greatful I had this Doctor. My MOHS surgery was Feburary 8th 2 passes. By looking at it now you cant tell it was a hole a little over the size of a dime. I would recommend him anytime. Very personable.

Not pleased with a prominent scar left on my face from a biopsy that afterwards he said "I don't think it is anything." Then did a full body exam for any abnormal moles, etc. in less than 2 minutes. Ignored a patch of dry, scaly skin on my face that was basal cell. An office clerk called to tell me the results and said to schedule Moh's surgery, never presented any other option. Fortunately, a friend told me about radiation therapy- much better than losing a portion of you face. I will not go back to Dr. Soon.

I've been to a lot of dermatologists in my life, in different states and even different countries. Dr. Soon stands out to me as the best so far!As a person he is intelligent, decisive and genuine; these qualities make him a perfect personality for a physician. As a physician, he is thorough, knowledgeable, decisive, calm and professional. He really knows his stuff, he really listens, and takes time to make sure that I understand. I went to his office for a mole removal. He did not waste my time with extra visits and costs. He is fast, precise and straight forward. I got rid of that ugly growth on my face on the spot, in the same session and couldn't be happier. I could tell that he has an exceptionally good eye hand coordination, which is an asset for a good surgeon and not everybody has it. The scar looks great, too, BTW. I can't recommend him highly enough. He is an exception to the practice of money extraction, which is unfortunately common with cosmetic surgeons and dermatologists.… He is fair and considerate and it seems to me, that he is among those very few doctors who get their satisfaction from actually helping the patients and not from a bigger bank account. In that sense he is an endangered species What a terrific dermatologist! His nurse is amazing and friendly, I felt very comfortable there and under the best care with the latest in technology and knowledge.

I was in an accident and suffered a huge gash on my forehead due to blunt force trauma. I needed to find the best surgeon so that the scar would be as minimal as possible. I came across Dr. Seaver Soon and I can not thank him enough. Dr. Soon did the most amazing job! My scar is going to be tiny now thanks to him and I owe Dr. Soon more than he will ever know. He truly is not only the best surgeon but one amazing human being as well!
